Needed for a science paper. It says it can be either a ball-and-socket joint, a fixed joint, a hinge joint, a pivot joint, or a gliding joint. What is it?

It is a hinge joint, because you can only move your finger in a bending way.

The best answer is wrong, it is not a hinge joint. The finger is a gliding joint, because it can go up and down, but it can also move side to side, even if a little bit. This declassifies it as a hinge joint, because hinge joints can t go side to side, only up and down. The finger fits all the parameters of a gliding joint, and not a hinge joint. In wood working, a finger joint would be a fixed joint. It's a way of joining pieces of wood together often used in molding and trim pieces.
