They ignore the ones they don't like or say "its taken out of context" so they can brush it off.

Because christians teach others what they must do to be saved, and what God and Jesus said. These parts are not necessary until the person has reached a good understanding of the other 2 more important parts. By the way, God did not approve of several of the stories you mentioned. Adam eating from the tree is also mentioned in the bible, does that mean God wanted Adam to eat from the tree? Of course not. You also took the bears who mauled the children out of context. Come on chippy, if you want to ask me these questions before posting them feel free to do so. It will save you the points.

One very good thing about the Bible is that is never pulls punches. People do hateful and wicked things sometimes, and when they do, it reports them. That's not the same thing as holding them up for applause and approval, as if God liked those things. He despises it when people act like that, but they do it anyway. That said, there are certain things that are appropriate to the age and developmental status of children, and there are certain things which aren't. They shouldn't be taught things until they're old enough to understand them, because that would be misleading them. As to why you weren't taught those stories in your Christian school. . . I can't answer for that. I can only say that in every Christian school I ever had anything to do with, they never hesitated to teach those stories.

I am going to tell them a story about a guy who keeps comparing God to man, and will not realize God's righteousness is RIGHT, and that whatever God says, or wills is because of His justice and Glory--and How God is all Good. And so when bad things happen, we need to just seek God and not put our pride in the way and make it the unfair game....but humble ourselves instead and ask the Lord for UNDERSTANDING....because he always gives it to those who are willing to listen. Then I will tell them that this guy changed his name to Ken. The end.
