Christians. I've never met a happy atheist.
Actually, I did meet one, but she was on drugs, so maybe she wasn't all that happy.

Sinning is a lot of fun and some atheists might have more 'fun' but Christians live a happier life. It's promised to them.

Another way of asking this is "Do you want to know the truth...or be happy?
Consider the Jesus freaks, evangelicals and other deeply religious folks, all have reverted to that primitive limbic systems of our brains, the place where our deepest emotions reside. The 'born-again' Christian phenomena has a scientific basis. When people are in deep despair, near death, nearly starved, or other highly emotional states, the 'religious experience' is triggered. Hormones, dopamine receptors and other chemical reactions take place...all good for the body. They help to fight diseases, etc. It was a survival mechanism our bodies have devloped since the days of our primitive ancestors.
Those that know the truth however, ie Objective Reality, are not allowing themselves the body's defensive mechanizm that has evolved over time. The closest they (we) can come is to believe in the 'power of positive thinking' which is the closest to religion (use of the limbic system of our brains) that we atheists can get.
I've chosen Objective Reality, even knowing that a delusional worldview could be beneficial to my health and body....go figure.

Happiness is meaningless if you have to tell yourself lies to numb the pain of life, but to answer your question Christians probably live happier life than Atheists.

It's certainly a lot easier to be an atheist, so perhaps that why it would seem they'd be happier. Without God, nothing matters. Atheists are free to do whatever they want without having to worry about any eternal consequences. But does easy=happy, perhaps in the short term, but I'm more concerned with the long term. I'm happy to be Christian.

According to studies done, people who are religious live happier lives and live longer. This probably only really applies to those who actually follow and believe in their religion, not the people you see on TV or the media who corrupt the message of whatever they are preaching for their own profit.

Who am I and who are you to judge a person's life is happy or not. I can't monitor every single christian person's life or an atheist's life.

I'm atheist (former christian) and I'm happier now than I ever have been. It depends on the person, though.

It does depend on the person, but i'd say the christian because they go thru life thinking they're going to heaven while the athiest knows he'll just be dead and never come back. I'm an athiest, (sigh :(

There are happy atheist and miserable Christians and happy Christians and miserable atheists. No one group can be compared to each other, although Christians live a more fulfilled life and definitely a more fulfilled eternal life.
