Are the "arabs" just a violent sect of muslims? Please explain the topic.

Arabs are like Hispanic, Asian, Caucasian etc
Muslim is like Jewish, Christian, Hindu etc
Not all Arabs are Muslim
and Not all Muslims are Arabs
Actually only about 25% of the worlds 1.5 Billion Muslims (yes that means there are 5 Muslims for each American) are Arabs

Lol, well it's more simpler than that. A Muslim is someone who follows the religion of Islam. An Arab is a person of Middle Eastern descent. A Muslim can be an Arab, an American, a Mexican, an Australian, an African, etc. An Arab can be a Muslim, a Christian, a Jew, an atheist, etc. Another fact you probably didn't know is that Arabs make up a small percentage of the total Muslim population, a total of about 12% of Muslims are Arab. The country with the largest total population of Muslims is not an Arab country, but is actually Indonesia!

Arabs are an ethnic group with origins from Saudi Arabia and some neighboring countries. Ethnicity is usually labeled by the language that the groups speak, in this case Arabs speak Arabic.
Arabs are Semitic speaking people which include, Arameans, Babylonians, Carthaginians, Ethiopians, Hebrews, and Phoenicians.
A Muslim is someone who practices the religion of Islam. Most Arabs are Muslim but their are some who are Christian and Jewish.
Originally Arabs were nomadic people who traveled through the Middle East, Northern Africa and Asia. Culturally Arabs conquered and established their main religion of Islam in different countries. Many believe that its the Arab culture of conquest that seems violent to western cultures.

An Arab is an Arab by genetic default. There is nothing you can do about it. Just like a white person is white and a black person is black. People like Michael Jackson try to change but we just don't have the technology to change a person's genes.
A Muslim is a follower of Islam. At its core, it is a choice. You can choose whatever religion you want, although with Muslim, that religion is often chosen for you. I had a friend once of Lebanese decent. He converted to Christianity and literally had to flee his country (he and his family lived in Brazil) for his life because His family would have either forced him back to Islam or killed him.
This was 20 years ago and I have lost contact with him. Doesn't seem like much has changed. If anything it has gotten worse.

Arab is an ethnic designation, like Chinese or Scandinavian or Persian. Muslim is a religious designation. Many, but not all, Arabs are Muslims; some are Christians, etc. Muslims can be anyone who was born into or converted to the religion, like Indonesians, Chinese, Persians, Europeans, etc.

Arab means you are from Arabia, commonly known as the Middle East.
The two are related only in that Islam is a popular religion amongst Arabs.

Muslim is a religion. (Like Christian is a religion too)
We can say, Arabs usually are Muslims (or have Muslim religion) but not all.
