I have kittens that are 2 weeks old tomorrow and the one kitten has its eyes pretty much open, but the other kittens eyes havent started and I was just wondering if its normal and ok if the kittens eyes arent open by the time they are 14 days old and how long its ok to wait before taking it to a vet like whats the longest it should take after the 14 days for the kittens eyes to open

I wouldn't be worried yet....some take longer than others to open. They will probably start opening soon. Never force a kitten's eyes open. Do they look puffy or swollen? If so he/she could have conjunctivitis (very common in newborns). You can always apply a warm compress to the eye also - just warmly damp a kleenex and try that a few times, might help.

Kittens usually open their eyes around the age of 7 to 10 days, I've had plenty of kittens in my time and have never seen a kitten at the age of 3-4 weeks that has not had their eyes open.

They usually open their eyes 2-4 weeks old. Don't worry! Wait till they are 6 weeks old to call the vet.

I dont think there is a "normal" because it all depends on the kitten. There is an "average" but like I said it depends on the indivual. We had 2 puppies born here and although we never forced his eyes open or anything in that nature, somehow his eyes were either strached open or licked open. He is now half blind :/

Yes, this is absolutely fine! Every kitten has it's day of opening his or her eyes. I knew kittens that were 2 months when they first opened their eyes. If the mother licks them more often, it should loosen their eyelids. Good luck!!

it's completly normal some of the kittens that my cat had their eyes didn't open until they were over three weeks or a month old.

its normal, i had 5 kittens and it took one about 3 weeks to fully open. once they start to open they will open the rest of the way in about 3 days, and its the cutest thing ever

14 days seems a little long, but not all babies walk before they are a year old either. If there is not a lot of discharge or if the eyes do not look puffy or swollen, I would relax and enjoy your kittendom.

its totally normal. its eyes will probably open soon. jst wait a little while. if its eyes are not open in 28 days, you should take it to a vet. just sit it out a while though.

I wouldnt start to worry until 3 weeks. Then you might want to go to a vet. You should be able to find some stuff on the internet. Just do a search. Good Luck!
