Hello,
Go to your own quiet room, and be at peace with yourself, say nothing just yet, and think of any reason at all why you are alone looking for a moment when you can have a quiet moment with Jesus, listen to your own heartbeat, and then try to utter a word or two, for the miracle of that wonderful heartbeat, as Jesus is one third of the Blessed Trinity, have a seond to remember the other Two, God the Father and God the holy spirit. Call upon the holy spirit and say "Come Holy Spirit Come. into the heart of your Faithful" and out Lord will be there with you, for there is no real sense in praying alone, Jesus taught us, wherever a man would be, looking for me, I am already with him.
After your brief moment alone, if you have spoken quietly with him, and you begin to feel better within your beating heart, you will already have accepted him. Bless you for this nice question, and I hope you really find, He that you seek.... Tony M

It helps to be in a good church where they often have evangelistic services, eg Kensington Temple in London. But you can do it by yourself in prayer (but you must confess it to others). They normally ask you to say a sinner's prayer - you have to be sincere about it or God won't take you at your word. If the teaching is good they will also help you to receive the Holy Spirit at the same time.
"Jesus, I confess that I have sinned against God, and in God's sight am worthy of judgement. Jesus, you died on the cross to forgive me my sins. I accept you as my saviour. Please come into my life to be my Saviour and Lord."
In churches they make people say this, better put, aloud, often at the front - they call it an 'altar call' sometimes, since as Romans 10:9-10 says, you must believe Jesus died for your sins, and rose again from the dead, but must also confess it.
You have to say it as an act of faith, some people are immediately aware of the presence of God, of his love for them and so on, others feel no different at that moment, but as they have confessed it and now regard Jesus as their Saviour, they will know sooner or later that they have indeed made the right and true decision. Some with a great sense of guilt feel wonderfully freed at last of a heavy burden.
Jesus said we should count the cost. In the UK if you're white
you're likely to face some mockery, possibly be blocked by someone in your career because of an unspoken grudge. If you come from a muslim background you might experience some persecution, such as being disowned by your family, possibly intimidation with threats of violence. But we have it easy here in the UK.
Also you need to get established in your faith. Find a good church, belong to a cell group as well. Read the Word and pray and so on regularly. These things are necessary to develop your faith. Otherwise your life can get unproductive like that pictured in the parable of the Sower in Mark 4; anxieties, money worries, career and the pursuit of worldly things can make one neglect one's faith.

It is just like the famous picture of 'The Light of the World' which shows Jesus knocking at the door of 'your heart'. The door has no handle on the outside and only you can open it from the inside! You only have to ask and pray.

If ever there was a question that required further information...it was this!!!
Do you mean practically or emotionally?
Are you enquiring from a social or philosophical perspective?
Are you smart or are you just clever?
The only answer I can guess at is this...Let go of your ignorance and accept in every way you can the meaning of jesus and what he taught.
You might be wrong...but you will never be bad.

Think back to when you were a little kid and you accepted Father Christmas, the tooth fairy, and the Easter bunny.
Its the same process.
Just close your mind, suspend reality and it's easy.

First off accept that everything you know about Jesus is a lie, starting from the name Jesus.

Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."
Romans 6:23, "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." The punishment that we have earned for our sins is death
Romans 6:23 , "but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Romans 5:8, "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Romans 10:9, "that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
Romans 10:13 , "for everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Jesus died to pay the penalty for our sins and rescue us from eternal death. Salvation, the forgiveness of sins, is available to anyone who will trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
Romans 5:1 , "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." Romans 8:1 , "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus."
Romans 8:38-39, "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Pray a prayer that say how you feel, and surrender yourself to Him.Remember, they are not magic words. If you don't really believe it,saying a prayer will not save you.
I recommend that you find a church, get baptized, and then remember to study a Bible. Here is a website with resources for new Christians, and you can email me with any questions you may have.

Dear Friend, Kneel before our great God and ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins, that you believe he is the son of God and has redeemed you. Receive his free gift of salvation. It's that simple..then have faith in him. God Bless you ,Joseph!
