I have a new DVD drive, and it won't play DVD movies. I went and I downloaded DivX, hoping that it would fix my problem, but to no avail. I even re-downloaded it but that didn't work either. Will someone help me?

Download VLC or Media Player Classic, PowerDVD among others. They play dvds. If you have a codec for Windows Media Player 10 or 11, assuming you have XP, you can also play DVDs there.

DivX is nothing at all to do with DVD playback so it's no surprise that didn't work.

Anyway, as you don't bother to say *exactly* what happens when you try and play a DVD I'm shooting blind here but if I had to guess, which I do, I'd reckon that you don't have any DVD playback software installed. Windows won't play DVDs as standard, so simply having a DVD drive doesn't help in that respect, you need to actually install a software DVD player before you can watch them. The only free one I know of is VLC, though it's a bit fiddly to get it working. Download page for VLC here:
