Yesterday I posted a question about Vitamin E healing scars from burns from curling irons, etc. I am currently using Vitamin E capsules 3-5 times a day...I have received replies saying it works but I'm wondering how long until you see results? AND HOW LONG until it is just about completely healed? Thanks in advance for the help!

The theory that vitamin E oil will help with scarring has been around for many years, and while many people claim it works, there have been no scientific studies to show this. And it sounds like you are going a bit overboard- using that much vit. E for some people will cause contact dermatitis, so instead of just a scar, you will have a red rash to go with it.

If this scar is stressing you out that much, try going to a spa and have it "peeled". However, this may not work either.

Try using a roll-on liquid form of vitamin E. Several types are available. Look for one with a high IU (International Unit) count.

This method allows an easy and convenient application, and you can put it only where it is needed..

There is no set time for healing, as it depends very much on your own body's ability to heal itself, as well as how serious the burn was.

Be patient.

I have used a cream for scars - it works very slowly, and may never heal completely (it depends on the degree of the burn). Just keep applying it and it will lessen.

I have burnt myself so many times with a curling iron. Settle down. I goes completely away, and sooner that you think. Keep moisterizing with the e for the rest of your life and stop worrying.
