2 part question: Do you think that it is better to have loved and lost, or do you think it would've been better to have not loved at all?

And do you think that this heartache has caused you to love that much less?

terminology aside, isn't "being smarter" or "more careful" loving less? Say you are staying away from a "quality" of a person, you already wrote them off before getting to know them- right?

Many people say this as a fact: To love and lose is better than not knowing... Personally, had I known that losing would hurt so bad, I would have preferred not to have loved at all. It's a long, hard fall and it hurts like no one's business. Unfortunately, heartache only seems to blind you temporarily. You swear you'll NEVER love anyone ever again, some time passes and suddenly, without you even thinking it, you're back in the game and you love someone like you have never loved before... all the previous experiences don't seem to matter at all any more...
It blows....

Better to have loved and lost - loving someone even if it doesn't work out opens parts of your heart that nothing else can. The heartache can be used as a teaching tool if you let it.

Heartache has made it possible for me to love better and more. It goes deeper than before. I love my husband in ways I was never capable of in my other relationships because I learned how to love - acceptance, forgiveness and patience. The reward is that I am also loved better by him than I have been by any other man.

Be blessed.

It's definitely better to have loved and lost than never loved at all. Think about it...if you never love anyone, then you're an empty shell. A pathetic excuse for a human being. Because the ability to love is what makes us human...

And sure, some people get their hearts broken so they stop putting so much into their relationships. That will all change when they meet the right person.

it honestly depends on the heartache...
I belive its better to have not loved at all, because though the amazing experience was there...
its no comparesion to the loss.
And the heartache has acctually made me have more hope. Hope for many things. Were ill go in life and how ill get there. This particular heartache has showed me whats ahead. The more i learn, the more it shows.

Well, there is one relationship that I have had that I say it is better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all. The only thing is, we were good friends before and are still friends. All of my other relationships, I would have rather not had them at all because to me, they weren't genuine love.

I believe all of our relationships have an impact on how we love in the future. I personally feel like I have higher standards and I am looking for that one love that is more than all the rest ever were.

i would rather have loved and lost then never have loved at all for all the heartache you or i or anyone experiences i think that you learn a lesson from each heartache to never have loved you would then not know the magical feeling of loving so i suppose that it is up to the individual to decide whether to love and lose or never love at all for me i choose love and lose hope this helps

I guess it's better to have looved and lost, but then again, if you don't know what you're missing you wouldn't be getting your heart broken.
I don't think heartache has caused me to love less, but it has made me carfull not to rush into things. It takes me a long time to trust someone to the point that I would say I love them and meen it.

Love and lost because if it a love and lost situation then you will learn the good and the bad things about relationships but if you don't love at all you will be lonely for the rest of your life and nobody wants to be alone.
No how you love can never change but who you love can always change no matter what.
