The risk of death will always be prevalent in war. The question is: how can we minimize the risk of our troops getting killed in war?
The answer: By allowing our troops to fight.
We are currently fighting under the philosophy of "Just War Theory" in which our troops are used to shield civilians of an enemy population. Our troops are used as policemen, construction workers and civil engineers rather than soldiers.
Rather than bomb mosques in which enemy combatants hide; we allow them to escape to attack us the next day.
We as individuals in a nation must recognize "Why" we are fighting this war and "What" is the most effective way to win.

Stop letting the politicians run the war and let the military do their job. Let them clean out the insurgents, where ever they hide and attack our troops. We have the best weapons in the history of the world, but we're afraid to use them because we might hurt somebody's feelings. Stop the PC crap and finish this war without the politicians.
