the movies come up to play in media player.

U need the following things:
1. a dvd rw/r
2. a dvd burner which support mpg/avi codec

I think avi would be the better choice since it has well supported by both realplayer and media player

Download the 30 day trial of Nero 7:

It will do that & a whole lot more ... well worth buying.

Add this program:
http://www.mrbass.org/dvdshrink/

DVD Shrink will make a copy of any copyright protected DVD. It uses the Nero engine so you must have Nero installed. Great for copying rented DVDs.

MPEG2 is DVD quality.
AVI now has refined formats such as Xvid & Divx which are 15% the size of a DVD with almost equal quality.
