You can if you get a license for each computer or get the family license program. I believe if you get Vista Ultimate, you can then order two copies of Vista Home Premium online and pay $49.99 per copy. The Vista Ultimate upgrade costs around $250 I believe.

You could.. but you would be able to activate the license on only one.

While it would not be legal -- you would need to crack the activation on the other two or they would probably stop working in 30 days.

Now you could lie to Microsoft and claim that you removed it from the previously activated system, and are installing it on a new system, and thus activate over the phone.

However, if the systems are networked you may run into networking issues with the same license installed on all three computers.

Legally, this is the drill:

* If you purchase a new computer with Windows Vista preinstalled, or if you build your own PC using an OEM version of Windows ... . Your copy is locked to that PC and cannot be transferred to another.

* If you purchase a retail copy of Windows Vista and install it on a PC, you can install that same copy on another PC, provided you remove it from the original PC. ...

* You can perform an unlimited number of upgrades to an existing computer running a retail version of Windows Vista. If those upgrades are significant enough to cause the computer to look like a new PC, you'll be required to reactivate within 30 days.

From what ive read, you need liscenses for all. They did away with the up to 5 computers thing. If you want to use a copy of Vista from a computer, you need to delete it off the computer, then you can put it on another one. But I haven't heard of the "Family Plan" or whatever the other person(s) said. I would highly suggest not getting Vista, get XP Professional if you want a new Windows. Vista is really bloated, unsecure (They allow companies to have low level access to your computer if you use that companies product), and its basically a Windows XP gone Apple. Literally. I was watching videos for comparisons, and Apple was making fun of Vista cause they figured out how to do things Apple has been doing for years. Plus the features, named different, looked almost the same, even the same color schemes. So yeah, just a thought. If you want Vista, go with Apple, its basically the same, but its way safer...of course its not windows, and I don't personally like apple. But if you like windows, like me, Go with XP Professional.

Before you buy VISTA do a YAHOO or GOOGLE search - "windows vista problems and issues"

Meanwhile if you need a reliable, up to date operating system, try UBUNTU. It's free plus all of the software that you will ever need is free too.

You can order a CD or download it at http://www.ubuntu.com
