I'm 14 but I really want a lip-ring and I know my parents probably won't go for it..but I was wondering does it hurt? and do you think if I get permission should I go through with it?

All piercings hurt, but to what extent depends on where the piercing does, who is doing it and your tolerance to pain. Rest assured, you'll feel something. Usually lip piercings are no worse than biting your lip really hard. But your lip may swell as a result of the piercing and that is rather normal.
If you do get permission, go ahead and do it, just take care of your piercing and have it done by a reputable piercer. However, if you don't get permission it is very disrespectful to hide the piercing and get it done behind your parents back.
I'm not sure the laws in your state/country, but check to make sure you are allowed to get a piercing, if you can't, you'll have to wait. Good luck.

I had lots of piercings when I was in my 20s but now I'm 32 and my sons 14. I personal think lip rings are very tacky and even my friends that had them got allot of crap about it constantly. I wouldn't let my son get a lip ring and Id kick his *** like a step child if he did it without my permission. Poor kid wouldn't be seeing games or TV for a year. I think when your an adult and paying your own way you have the right to mutilate your self anyway you see fit. In fact have fun doing it. But until then respect what your parents say unless you plan on paying bills before your 15. Hehehe.. Personally I had my nipple pierced and i have 3 in one ear and 2 in the other. But my son whos 14 has no percings yet and thats because hes 14. His day will come soon enough and so will yours.

It hurts and in ten years, you're gonna look back and say...why the heck did I do that !??!
You might possibly have a scar on your face for the rest of your life and it will be worse if it ever gets infected.
I faked all four years of high school with a parent-approved FAKE lip ring. They make really good ones.
Body peircing hurts..no matter what. I had my belly done and I'm kicking myself in the butt....I have an ugly scar now.

Consider this chronology:
Day 1 - Lip stabbed - painful - red - swollen - ouch !!
Day 2 - Lip painful - red - swollen - inflamed - oozing pus
Day 3 - Gangrene sets in
Day 4 - Mouth begins to rot off

No I think lip rings are very unattractive, especially on a girl. And yes, it will hurt to get your lip stabbed.

it probably does hurt for a while, atleast until it is healed. what about your school? my school did not allow facial piercings but if yours does and your parents don't mind then go for it.

Don't do it!!
A. it hurts like f***ing H***
B. my sister got hers pierced and itt got infected and had to get a chunk of her lip taken out.
and...
C. the really aren't that cool after awhile and if you take it out it takes forever to heal.
