Both are terrible, but the one who teaches false doctrine is worse. The one who preaches true doctrines just because he hopes to use the church to get rich is mostly just damning himself for his own unbelief, while he might possibly still be leading the lost to salvation. However, the one who teaches heresy (especially sincerely) can easily corrupt thousands of people and destroy their walk with God.

I think theyre both equally bad in one way. The prophet trying to get rich could have attracted financial gain ANY way, but he CHOSE to be a false prophet and does the same as the next man who also is denying the divinity of God. Theyre both doing the same thing, and sin is sin, whether for one reason or another.

False Prophecies = false Prophets
False Prophecies = financial gain
The devil can use false Prophecies to make false Prophets appear that the Prophets were Prophets of God. This is very dangerous overall. The false Prophecies that seem to come true to the world will reap many profits for the churches of the world.
Financial gain = religion
Religion = multimillion dollar industry
False Prophets = hell
False Prophecies = hell
False religion = war
War = hell
Who are the false Prophets?

The false prophet is worse.
The denier of the Divinity of God is ignorant; he may change when he gains knowledge.
The false prophet is blasphemous; he cheats many innocent people and consequently condemns himself to eternal death. The laws of various countries do not punish the deniers of God, but they punish false prophets.
These are all good theories, but in reality, humanity repeatedly act against the true Prophets and glorify the false ones! Finally, our hope can be placed only on the justice of the One True God.

I purely look into 3 issues. Do they carry forth Tolerance, love, faith and desire? Do they practice what they carry forth? Do they condone causing suffering on themselves or others by any skill? If the solutions are convinced, convinced, no then I say thats a stunning good prophet. in the journey that they are is a no with better than 2, or a convinced to the perfect I say they're only fake. Peace and advantages = )

* Are you saying some Christians deny that God is God? Do you rather mean those who deny the dininity of Christ? All those years I spent in christianity and studying the different beleifs, I neve ran accross any professed Christiand to deny the divinity of God, but many denie the divinity of Christ. One even claims that Jesus. God , and the Holy Spirit are one and the same, no seperate personalities, but God left heaven to become Jesus the Son and then when he assended to heaven he became the Holy Spirit. But I am not familiar with any Christian cult that denies God as God.*

There are false "health and wealth" prophets or preachers. I do not support them. However, and I think this is Biblical, as long as the word of God is being preached, it is helping someone. Those who just say give, give, give -- well, I think most people see thru them. "My people perish for lack of knowledge". There is more hope for people who are victims of a false preacher of Christ than for victims of a false prophet that denies Christ

Paul says there are those who teach for the wrong reasons, but they are adding people to the kingdom.
I can agree, there are some of them.
However false teaching could lead people away from the kingdom.
So I chose the false teaching as the worst of the two evils.

There are too many false prophets to choose from these days. Just pray to and worship God and only God through Jesus The Christ and you'll be fine.
May God Bless you.

Anyone who denies the divinity of God has committed the "unforgiveable" sin. but not really God as much as Jesus. if you deny that jesus was God you will go to hell. If you manipulate the word of God to acheive finincial gain, then you probably never trusted Jesus, or you would never have done such a thing. people do make mistakes, but to conciously manipulate God's word, or deny God leaves you in an unhappy place when you die.
