There is an error message which says "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator".

I use TuneUpMyPC trial version and did a full scan of everything and it made my pc faster etc. I think I must have done something that has messed hyperlinks up in email.

Also I can't see any pictures/graphics in my emails, just a "x" where the graphic should be - how do I configure Outlook to show these? Many thanks

As I said in my original question I never got the error message before I used TuneUpMyPC. I could ALWAYS open hyperlinks in MS Outlook and now its really annoying that I have to keep cutting and pasting all the time!

Re: Thunderbird - I did try this for a few months, nice program but the spam emails I was getting was ridiculous!

Hello,

(ANS) The answer is that hyperlinks cannot be openned directly from within an opened email.

That is from within Outlook or outlook express, to use the hperlink you must copy & paste the link into an open web browser address field (with an active connection) that way the link should take you straight to the site or page concerned.

**The x where the image should be means all you are seing is the image's place holder and NOT the image, why? The source of the image cannot be found and so no image can be loaded. It could also mean that your program i.e. Outlook has stripped out the image for security reasons, outlook may have been configured to remove file attachments (attchments could contain viruses thats why).

Hope that helps?

Best Regards IR

"The answer is that hyperlinks cannot be openned directly from within an opened email."

Really? That's just... annoying.

I didn't know this because I use Thunderbird - it's more up to date than Outlook, blocks spam better and is much more customizable. It's also free.
I can open links in Thunderbird - it goes to a new tab in Firefox.
Firefox is also more up to date than it's Microsoft counterpart (IE) - it blocks pop-ups and spyware, it's faster, more secure and is very customizable as well.

Feel free to look into them!
