It would seem as if there are more dog lovers because you see many dog owners with their dogs. You don't really see cat owners with their cats around, but you will be surprised at how many people love cats. I love all animals. I have two cats, a dog, and a turtle. I would have more if I had a bigger place. Also, dogs NEED human interaction more than cats do. Cats come to you when they need attention. Cats are actually very intelligent, but dog lovers don't think so. Maybe it's because they don't do silly tricks. My cats are snuggle bunnies. It all depends on the cat and the bond they create with their owners. My cats come to me when they are called and one of them greets me at the door when I get home. When I am sick, my cats are close to me at all times. My dog doesn't do that.

Dogs are much bettter in my eyes cats are not as smart though it is said its not true dogs are 10th smartest animal in the world and cats are not listed in the top 10.
cats are more independant then dogs and are a little more solitary
dogs effect humans all over after all have you ever heard of a seeing eye cat or sheep herding cat or a cat with any important job other then a mascot
dont get me wrong cats are great i love them very much
dogs are just better in my eyes

I prefer dogs over cats. Many people that like pets, prefer dogs probably due to being able to interact more with them than you can do with a cat. It's difficult, if not impossible to train a cat. A cat will take up with anyone that feeds it. Dogs are social animals and bond with humans much more than cats do.
You can own a dog as a pet. No one really owns a cat, they just kinda room with you.

Definitely Cats!
Had them all my life- I like to think of cats as women and I love my friends - but they can be tough
1. They pay attention when they want to
2. They want you to pet them- only how long they want to be petted- then they are gone- or attacking
3. They come when they want to
4. They love you- but remember things forever and make you pay if you mess up
5. Love food.
6. Picky
7. Clean- very clean.
Oh- except that Cats usually require less maintenence and women- not so much.
Also you dog lovers that say cats don't come- incorrect for some cats- mine meets me at the door (however mostly because she's hungry....but.... she still meets me :)
Don't get me wrong I appreciate dogs and the jobs they do- after all I've only heard of a few guard cats..... but they do catch mice
and I like small dogs -
its really just I think the hygiene issue I have with them....slobber...terrible halitosis....just blech...
I like animals anyway- but I love my cat!

There are more dog lovers than cat lovers. I love cats because they have a lot more personality than dogs. If a cat allows you to be around, it is because they love their human. A dog will love anyone that feeds and pets it.

It may seem like it to you but it is not true. There are more people that have cats than dogs. They are easier to care for and small enough to keep in apartments. And can be cheaper to care for.
I love all animals but for a pet I prefer cats. They help me with my depression and always a joy to watch and I love to cuddle them.

CATS. Cats are my favorite because they are always there. The're like humans because they are there when they want to, and not when they dont. They have personalities, they are small, soft, cute, and are there to listen. They clean themselves, they dont make a mess when eating, their poop is easy to clean, and they dont smell like dukie! My cat loves to sit on my lap and sleep with me, she is such a warm sweetie. She is nice and chubby so she is great for cuddeling. I just love cats, and dogs are just too big and smelly for me. But of course I looove dogs to death; I have a Golden Retriever myself. The great thing about dogs though; is they are always happy when you come home! Always! The only downside is they eat all of your stuff, that ticks me off. Oh well. I love animals to death, and each little bundle of joy has its own personality so I guess it also depends on the breed of dog or cat. â¥

I prefer dogs because they love you and listen to you. I have a cat because my place isn't big enough for a dog. The damn cat never comes when I call her name and runs when I try to pet her.

i love cats and always have. i think dogs smell and just are not cuddly the way that a cat is. I like that cats know when you do not feel good and become attached to you. There are just many factors.

I can't really answer your question except to say.....
-dogs come when called
-meet you at the door and are genuinely happy to see you
-will follow you around
-play WITH you
-will love you to death
I , if I had a choice would love to have a dog.
Cats..... well cats don't do these things!
Cats love, but when they want to love, come, when they want to. With a cat you must remember if the cat doesn't want to , it's not going to happen.
I love animals. Somehow we have ended up with 3 cats and I honestly love each one of them.
