ok so i have no clue what design for a tattoo would be good to represent my situation so that I can remember it.
My dad left my family like 4 years ago and it was devastating for my family. Also soon after that, my closest relative, my grandma passed away. I love my sister and mother to death for being there for my family. I would like something kind o fgirly if possible.
Could someone please help me design a tattoo/ or give me ideas for a good tattoo to represent my life's events.

I forgot to add that I do want it to represent my strength and being able to make it through the tough times.

I would suggest two things. Firstly, research online tatt sites or just google tattoos. Secondly, once you have a few you like, take them to the tattooist you want to use & ask them if its possible to combine certain aspects of each tatt. Tattooist are....artists so they would be your best bet. They know what works & what doesnt. Tattoo parlours also have books & magazines of tonnes of tatts, this is how I found mine, took a while because I too wanted it to represent things in my life. You can always add to it later too as your life progresses, best of luck, you will find something hun :o)

Think of a personal memory... my mother passed in June, and she loved animals and the zoo, but she really had a thing for the Tree Frog exibit. After she passed I was packing some things away and started looking through pictures and I found one from when I was maybe 5 and it was she and I at the zoo, I am sitting on her lap and we are both pointing to my left foot, a tree frog had hopped on it. I decided to get a tree frog tattooed on my left foot, it's a place I can hide it and it's a cute tattoo, and it's a personal memory I only have to tell people why it's there if I want them to know, which makes it much more special than a heart on my arm that says Mom- RIP.
PS. Let's face it, the older generations are as big on tattoos as younger people may be, and my mom was not a big fan of them, she didn't hate them but she thought a lot of them were tacky. I knew that the one I chose was one that she would think was cute and she would like it, even if she wasn't thrilled I got a tattoo. You may want to consider this when choosing a design since it is in memory of someone.

Tattoo's are too personal to be able to answer a question here on yahoo answers. A shield to one might represent honor and virtue while to others it could represent a gang insigna.
What kind of images come to your mind when you think of your life events, do you see a cute little Flower? perhaps an Angel while others might think of a lucky Clover or a Happy Go Lucky Dragon.
It is too open for interpretation I would suggest you think long and hard before you get one, it stays with you for life after all.

I am glad that you actually want a meaningful tattoo. I would suggest a design possibly with 3 triangles together representing you grandmother, mother and sister. I put a link for a tattoo that means learning from the past.

Hope this helps.

I would sit down with your mom and sister and draw up a family crest that all represents your bond and strength for making it through what your father did to all of you.
That way it has a piece of all of you in it, and you made it together.
On top of that add something in it that would reflect your grandmother. Maybe her favorite flower or something along those lines.
Glad to hear you're doing such a meaningful tattoo.
Hope you find something something significant that allows you to relfect positively on overcoming all that.
Good luck!!

I would think about what symbol represents your family struggles to YOU....your tattoo doesn't have to tell anyone what it's representing exactly....it's for YOU to remember....
What is it that you specifically want to pay tribute to...strength, endurance, love? etc...
That might help you come up with some ideas....isolate what you're paying tribute to in your tattoo....
best of luck...

i just have a question before i answer this:
do you want this tattoo to remember what your father did to your family and how you grandmother passed away, or do you want it to represent how grateful you are for your mom and sis for being there for you?
i mean do you want it girly for girl power or something?
but before you do this, think about. i mean you can get skin cancer and you can never take it off. plus every time you look at it, wont you think of the horrible thing your father did to you?
but if you must..
try a pink heart
or a nice red rose
or a lipstick kiss stain
good luck and im sorry about what happened.
