My boss can be very nice and calm and then other times she can be snappy and angry. There is little to no warning. I am walking on eggshells. How should I deal?

If you are not satisifed there then get another job. If you like what you do then just do your job and don't give her a reason to snap at you.

I had a female boss in her 50's who acted like that - pleasant and calm one moment, and short and snappy the next. I attributed it to some personal problems she was going through and maybe menopause. I just held my tongue most of the time, tried to keep my distance from her. One day I stood up to her because I felt that I was unfairly picked on, and she backed down. I would say just try your best to keep peaceful relations with her, but don't let her walk all over you or let it get to the point where it interferes with your work. Luckily, in my case, the business was doing poorly, so it gave me an excuse to get out and go back to school. Good luck - try to be patient!

I worked for someone like that when I was younger.
What got me through a shift when she was in a mood like that was a line from a Joe Jackson song that I would sing to myself whenever she went off...
"she don't care no more, she don't need to fight it...
she don't care no more SHE GETS PAID ON FRIDAY"
hope it helps.
