I have been here. I was abused for several years. Your friend has to get his father OUT of the house. I don't know if he has his mum there or siblings, but the dad has to go. If the kid is under eighteen, if he reports it, he'll be sent to child services if the charges go through.
He has to tell a cop. Tell him to talk to a teacher he trusts and then he has to go to the police. The police can't help him if they don't know what's going on. Have him write a statement about what his dad did to him. DO NOT LET HIM GO HOME.
I'm serious. Make sure your friend tells the truth, as much as he can, as soon as he can. If other people are involved, statements have be taken. It sounds just so grown up, but it'll help.
The most important thing you can do for him, whatever the decision he makes, is to make sure you are there for him. Let him know you are there and that you care. That's what he needs.
Don't let him confront his dad.
Hope this works out for the best.

Who says you can't make an anonymous call?
Usually, I'd say that a person will suffer until s/he is ready to ask for help, but that's adults I'm talking about.
Be that friend. Make that call.
And if your name has to go on the report, be prepared to deal with that.
You cannot deal with this yourself, you are too young, and this can hurt you, too.
Maybe you can try first by telling him-
hey, listen, I'm so glad you consider me this close of a friend. But honestly, there's nothing I can really do, and this is making me feel all kinds of pain and stress. I need for you to go get the right help, so I can stop being so damned powerless, ya know?

He has to go to the authorities, whether it be a teacher, councilor or police officer. If he doesn't you should, make sure he knows that if he goes to someone, they will not let it happen anymore, they may put him in a foster home or something until they find out what is going on. In the end, he will be better off. Make sure it is really happening before any reports are made, because if its just a story, there will be consequences to lying.

You could possably ask him if he really wanted it to stop. He would let you notify an another adult... umm... some other things are slowly hinting a teacher about this... act like your passing a note make sure you get caught and make sure the teacher reads then walk out this may help.... go to a counselor also try conforting them... while you do this they might trust you more... then be spcific on what your saying to the teacher!

well first off someone needs to be told so he can get out of the situation because no one deserves to be hit. I think you need to talk to your friend calmly and let him know that you'd like to help him out in any way possible and if it means you as your self tells authorities to help prevent this type of violence then it should be done. and honestly even if he doesnt want you to tell anyone it's a good idea too so he doesnt get hurt anymore, yes he may get mad at you or whatever but just remember your helping your friend out of a bad situation and he'll one day thank you for your help... Good Luck! email me if you need anymore advice

well im in england but it sounds like your in america because not many people in england say cop, over hear there are various people you can call confidentially for help and advice such as childline im sure there must be something similar there and they will be able to give you the right advice on how to help your friend. If you dont want to do that is there an adult you can trust maybe you could talk to your own parents.

Maybe he can talk to your parents. I know he is scared but once he tells and adult he will feel some relief just knowing someone who can help him with the problem. I hope It works out with your friend know one deserves to be hit. I f he doesn't speak up maybe you can for him. Good luck.

Is it serious hitting? If a parent slaps a kid once in a while, it's just to discipline them. If his father beats him, that's another story.
I know it might be hard to tell somebody about his situation, but that is the only option available to him. He has to tell someone. Preferably someone he trusts that will take care of him if his father is arrested. But he has to TELL SOMEBODY.
And if he can't...be a friend. Tell someone YOU trust.

ask him to ask himself would he want to spend the rest of his life getting beat up by his dad or would he want to stand up and to make it stop...
tell him u know thats going to cause problems in ur family but his dad doesnt deserve him if hes beating his kid up....
ask him if he wants to stay over a while and then call the police on his dad... that way he cant hurt him when hes at ur house...
