By perm, do you mean relaxer? If you speaking of a relaxer, the only thing that makes your scalp burn before a relaxer is scalp irritation like scratching...Hair oil or grease doesn't do a thing in how the relaxer takes. In fact, it is my opinion that hair oil may stop your hair from becoming overprocessed and also protect your scalp. So in short, hair oil won't hurt,,scratching will!

As long as its a pure oil like jojoba or olive oil, it shouldn't cause any harm. I would stop using it and do a thorough hairwash the two days before your perm.

Perms work by using chemicals, changing the shape of your hair follicle and then naturalizing it so it keeps the shape of the roller you put it on. While the quality of the chemicals have improved since the 1950's, you can't forget that it's still damaging to your hair.

Using the oil will help keep your strands protected and moisturized. You don't want a lot of that when the chemicals are applied, because the oil could keep the chemical from penetrating your hair. DO CONTINUE using oil after your perm, but ask your stylist how soon after you can do so. They usually recommend not washing your hair until 3-7 days after the perm to give it time to set.

I'm a hairdresser and have had some experience with a similar situation.
let me explain why this is a BAD idea..
OIL, deep penetrates and gets trapped in the cuticle..(im not sure what oil u are talkin about )..
PERMS chemical ingredient is called' ammonium thyoglocolate' its purpose is to break down the inner core of your hair structure, when this happens all things trapped inside the cuticle also get broken down, HERES the problem,,oil heats up easily..thus may very well burn your hair..ive seen this happen. not always but depending on what oil u have used. id say NO to either the oil or the perm ...for awhile anyways

If you were talking about a relaxer and if your hair not greasy/oily then it will be fine. Some beauticians apply a hair dressing to the scalp if the scalp was irate prior to applying the relaxer.
