my hair at the moment is warm brown...kind of auburny, great condition, but i want some highlights in it which are more of an ashy tone (im hopefully going to eventually get back to blonde completely) i was wondering if this is possible to go from warm to cool in one sitting? just to add, i AM going to a hairdressers this weekend, im not risking this myself.

I am a Professional Stylist... and YES this is Possible! I would need to know what "Level" your hair is and what Level you want to go to! For example: You have DARK Warm Brown hair... its going to damage your hair if you want to go to a Light Pale Ash Blonde- But can be done! Have your Stylist to do Chunky highlights in order to get to blonde faster! OR you can get a Base color which will lift your hair up 4 shades Lighter (with COLOR/ Not Bleach) and you can do highlights on top of that?! Thats a option as well!

The second thing I have to ask you is this... Would your Stylist feel like that would look BEST on you! When you Change tones on your hair- you will most often have to change Makeup!! OR you will look a little off! & Some Skin tones wont look good with an Ash! Sooo... Something to Ask your Stylist!

If she looks like she doesn't know what she is talking about... Tell her you need to "THINK" about it before you make a Major Change!

HOPE THIS WORKS!!

As long as you keep using a golden tone in your colorings you should be fine. You might want to go to a warm blonde color, you will not risk your hair going green either, if you go cooler, it contains ash, which will turn your warm hair green. EW. If anything your dresser may know. That is why they are there and you are paying for it.
