Something like god created simple one-celled organisms, and they evolved into organisms with a complex cell or cells all by themselves.

I don't support it as well as evolution only, but it sounds MUCH MUCH MUCH better than creation itself

Sure. I believe the main problem is that Christians automatically accept the date of creation as being accurate and it is not. It records the time from known time backwards, using the Bible's descendant line-up and their ages to determine the age of the planet.

The error is that it is man's calculation, not God's. They count from the time Adam and Eve were kicked out and had Cain and Abel, NOT the actual age of this planet. See, we believe that God created the planet and all in it in 6 days (that's 24 hours X 6), and that Adam and Eve lived in the Garden for millions of years.

The reasoning is this; there are specific time frames from day one through day seven. This is Chapter 1. Chapter 2 basically rehashes what happened. Then, it simply goes to the next thing that happened of significance; the serpent and Eve.

We think our theory answers some of these questions: So how long was this time period? A week, a month, a couple of years? How long were Adam and Eve actually IN the Garden? Why did God build a Garden with walls when He'd just created the entire world that they could've played with? Where did Cain get a wife?

Adam and Eve were infused with God's Spirit. This was passed through their sons and daughters and spread throughout the world, but we do not believe that Adam was the only human ever to develop in this world. He was simply the first MAN.

I could keep going with our theory but I've got to go deal with cranky kids lol .... good luck I hope someone else can finish it lol

Not saying what I believe but I am familiar with both ideas and they can co-exist. First Evolution does not address the origin of life so not argument there..and Creationism doesn't explain HOW it was created just that it was.

Now Creationism never tells you exactly how long it takes for all these events in creation to take place such as they are God's days but are those the same type of days as mortal men+women, so millions of years can be in between these stages of creation.

Also again it does not explain HOW God created humanity and animals just that it did and again there is no specific time standard as to how long the creation of said life form took.

Another thought is that God created a multifaceted and dynamic world that turns and moves and changes as time moves on....Evolution would fit right into a self adapting world design to keep life from dying out due to the inability to change to match the world.

AC: you are applying mortal standards to a being that can only be described as outside all forms of measurement and description. We have X amount of time so we need to get things done and over with...God would have all eternity to set the stage, watch it grown and evolve. If you have/had a child or did you ask they be shot full of growth hormone so they would reach full height within a year or did you let them grow GRADUALLY?

If you do want to apply human standards then if God made everything in one fell swoop then nothing WOULD change..would be kinda boring after 10 years so why would God want an eternity of reruns?

Great Question!

Theistic evolution
Theistic evolution Also known as "evolutionary creationism", this is the general view that, instead of faith being in opposition to biological evolution, some or all classical religious teachings about God and creation are compatible with some or all of modern scientific theories, including specifically evolution.

It generally views evolution as a tool used by God, and can synthesize with gap or day-age creationism. Most adherents consider that the first chapters of Genesis should not be interpreted as a "literal" description.

Day-age creationism
The view that the "six days" of Genesis are not ordinary twenty-four-hour days, but rather much longer periods (for instance, each "day" could be the equivalent of millions, or billions of years of human time). This theory often states that the Hebrew word "yôm", in the context of Genesis 1, can be properly interpreted as "age."

Hope this helps

G-d created the ball of goo that evolved into us all....?

Evolutionists argue that there is scientific evidence the world is much older than 5767 years. Okay, fine, it probably is, it's logical. They also believe that all life evolved from this goo or singe celled organism, depending on who you talk to. Creationists believe the world is only 5767 years old and was a literal Bible story, and also, if the world is supported by evolutionist logic, where did the ball of goo/single celled organism come from? The Middle People (who believe in both) believe that G-d must have created the ball of goo/SCO and that it evolved life from it.

Easy -- God created the big bang and for the most part let cosmology, astronomy, abiogenesis, and evolution take care of things, only reaching in to nudge things a bit here and there within the bounds of quantum randomness.

Not that I agree with that position, but it's how it's done.

I'm actually an atheist, but I can see how it would work.

Creation alone states: God did it.
Evolution alone states: It happened a lot like this.

Combine the two? "God did it, and he did it like this."

Personally, though I disagree with it, I feel this is a hearty and healthy compromise! I see nothing wrong with this, as long as it isn't taught that way in schools- to keep it fair for those who choose another path. Thats called being reasonable. When plain evidence is in front of you- add it to your collection of wisdom, and move forward! Don't spend your whole life telling me the green ball in front of your face is blue!

Yeah, the idea is that God kickstarted the Big Bang and planted the first simple organisms on Earth that eventually evolved into the species of today. I don't believe that happened myself, but it's a position that some people take.

Evolution (and laws of nature) are tools that God uses.

For example, I'm a graphic designer. I use adobe illustrator as a tool to make logos. Illustrator didn't make the logo, I'm still the designer here, but it sure helped as tool.

God can use whatever tools he wants to, to create with.

Further, there is no reason to believe that he didn't create the earth old AND put evolution in place to keep it going.

Kinda like starting a "scratch" cake with a box, and then modifying it to make it your own.
