Is there a prophecy saying that people would reject God enough times that God would harden their hearts and they wouldn't be able to choose him even if they wanted to? If you have where in the bible do it say that?
I have a friend that I grew up with it who is trying to 'believe'. I really sincerely think she wants to and I pray for her a number of times daily. She has made progress and no longer thinks it sounds like "a fairy tale and fairy tales aren't real" She had borrowed my 'Left Behind' series and called me this morning saying she had read 'Armageddon', and it said that phrase was prophesied. I looked at the book and that is what the book said, I haven't heard of it except for in Pharoh's situation, and of course the one unforgiveable sin, blasphamy of the holy spirit. Now she thinks this has happened with her. I've been looking through the bible all morning and was looking online when I thought to ask on here. You help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. God Bless.

I think it is rooted in blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit has never forgiveness.

That is why, when one accuses the Holy Spirit of being evil, when the Holy Spirit heals someone of cancer, etc... person gets spiritual blindness. It doesn't mean that person can't come to Salvation. But one needs to repent of not believing in Gods Saving Grace through faith in the Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ & all that He Is. That is realizing that the Holy Spirit is of God. It is the power of God & not devils that healed someone.

But your friend is believing the devils lie if she thinks she can't come to Christ for Salvation. She can repent to God any time. Just tell her to Repent for not believing in Jesus Christ as Lord & Savior of her life. That He did shed His own blood for the remission of her sins and raised from the dead for her justification.

It is a promise in the Word that whosoever confesses Jesus Christ Lord and believes in ones heart He raised from the dead will be saved. Because with the mouth confession is made and with heart one believes. She just needs to do that.

As far as the 'Left Behind' series go, they are fiction. And need to be read with a grain of salt. There is a future, after the rapture, when the beast reigns for a season, & those who take the mark of the beast & bow to it, have entered a point of no returning to Christ. Those are in great trouble.

It is true, that when anyone honestly calls out to Jesus Christ, He will not turn away. He will hear their cry.

Also there is another verse associated to the falling away after the rapture. That God turned them over to a decieving spirit because they refused to love Gods Truth.

An example of this is cult teaching, that denies Christ Foundation: He is the Son of the Living God. He shed His blood for the remission of our sins and raised from the dead. If someone can't receive Gods Grace, then they turn to something they think will save them, like cult rituals or cult works. You can discern a cult. It's a belief that is offered after rejecting the Lord Jesus Christ & what He did for us on the cross is sufficient to redeem us. They are enemies of the cross.

An example was the purple triangle Gateway religion where the victims of this cult put plastic bags on their head when the Commet Hail Bop headed toward the Sun. I read in their literature that the cross teaching was worthless. And the Cult Jesus looked like he was in a trance in the newspapers.

But the only time this would actually be a point of no return, is someone took the mark of the beast, & the beast hasn't even ruled yet. Those that actually take the mark have been turned over to a deceiving spirit becaused they refused to love the Truth of the LORD God.

I think this is in Thesalonians.

I have heard the "Left Behind" books were good and I believe they are. Realize that the names of the antichrist or other evil people aren't the actual name. My son is named Nickolai. It doesn't mean he is the antichrist. It doesn't say that anywhere in the bible. You have to read it with a grain of salt.

There is such a thing talked about where a person's conscience is seared, because they've been rejecting the Holy Spirit's call so many times. At this point it sounds like (based on Scripture) that their heart is so burned, so scarred, so hard, so stubborn that will in all likelihood never turn to Christ. It's a scary place to be.

1Timothy 4:1-2 "The Spirit says clearly that some people will abandon the faith in later times; they will obey lying spirits and follow the teachings of demons. Such teachings are spread by deceitful liars, whose consciences are dead, as if burnt with a hot iron."

The only advice I have for you is to keep praying! Our God is an awesome God, and He truly is mighty to save. He really does move mountains--and He can move the mountain of disbelief from your friend's heart and lift the veil that hides the truth from her.

Christianity does not teach that God hardens the hearts of men and makes them impenitent. On the contrary, true Christianity teaches that God does not harden men's hearts, He does not make people impenitent. In fact it is God's goodness which leads to repentance (Romans 2:4)

So the question could be asked why do christians teach that God does not harden men's hearts when the Bible clearly states that He hardened Pharaoh's heart and hardened the hearts of Israel's enemies and sends strong delusion to make people believe a lie? The reason is that true Christianity interprets these statements correctly to mean that God's Spirit, persistently resisted, ultimately leaves the soul encased in its own hardness and deceived by the lies and falsehoods it has chosen.

That left behind stuff is a deadly lie. No one is going anywhere until the True Christ arrives, AFTER Satan stands in Jerusalem claiming to be God. So maybe you and your friend both need to honor the Word instead of money grubbing garbage sold by men.

Satan as anti-christ will no doubt use the pre-trib rapture lie to his extreme advantage to deceive many many Christians into worshiping him. If that isn't deadly I don't know what is.

In your patience possess ye your souls. Luke chapter 24. Read it. Mark 13. Read it.

Don't be taken out of the field prematurely.

Sorry, I don't have the reference handy. I have heard of the "harden their hearts" versus. What I believe it to mean is that when people continue to reject God, their hearts become hardened. They WILL NOT believe anything. If they choose to believe him, they certainly can if they'd like. But after a certain time they REFUSE to believe in Him and CHOOSE not to accept Him.

Romans 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge , God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient.
