Where do I get it done? I've heard tattoo parlors, but how do I know if that place is sanitary and professional.?
Are there places that you can go to that will pierce your nose even if you are underage that are still sanitary?
I've heard that retainers work for hiding your piercing, do they? And can you put it in right after you get it pierced, or do you have to wait 2-3 months for it to heal? Alot of questions, but I am looking for someone who can answer them all.

www.safepiercing.org is a good place to check for piercers in your area. Keep in mind not all piercers are on there, but I think its a good place to go if you are worried about safety.

Usually you can just check out the shop beforehand and do a look around and ask questions about sterilization they should have no problems answering your questions. If you do have doubts, bring them up or leave. There are plenty of shops you can go to. Many professional piercers do pierce minors, but you will have to have a parent present at the time of the piercing and its very important to check with state laws to make sure what you are doing is legal. Usually teens as young at 15 can get piercings with parental permission, but in some cases you have to be older. Check with the state laws and then check with local shops as to how they handle situations with minors, because some do refuse to pierce or ink anyone underage, no questions asked.

Retainers are decently unnoticeable and you can be pierced with a retainer, but whatever jewelry is put in at the time of the piercing needs to stay in place for 2-3 months to ensure proper healing. If you do choose to get a retainer, make sure you get a quartz retainer since it can be autoclaved to sterilize it and its not a porous material which can cause problems for healing. Of course, once the 3 months go by, you are welcome to change the jewelry between a retainer and a regular piece of jewelry as you see fit.

Good luck.

Most tattoo parlors are professional piercing shops as well. They are the CLEANEST of all. To get your nose pierced you have to have a parent consent to it if you are under 18. Talk to your parents about it and go from there.

About changing it, don't take it out at all for 6 to 8 weeks, which is 2 to 3 months. And after that time don't change it per say but clean the one or take a new ring to the piercer that did it and they can change it a lot easier for you. Clean it well with a Q Tip and an antibiotic soap such as Dial or use a wash that does not have alcohol in it. Band Aid makes a hurt free antiseptic wash called just that. It's in a blue bottle and is semi clear semi blue. It works wonders on piercings but keep it out of your nose. Just use water on the inside. Wash it two to three times a day, don't play with it a lot because that prolongs the healing process and because not to pull it out on clothes or when washing your face. Keep make up off of it, don't use alcohols or ointments right on the area but if it hurts pretty bad a tiny bit of Neosporn on the tender skin around the outside can help temporarily, avoiding contact with the hole and jewelry. Call a piercing/tattoo parlor if you have more exact questions, they can answer them to the fullest, it's their job!

OH, and always always always get any piercing done with a needle. The guns aren't safe for anything and the needle has a faster healing time by about half. Needle all the way!

Yes, you get a piercing at a tattoo/piercing parlor... not every tattoo parlor does piercings though--call ahead and find out. Most places might require you to make an appointment, and sometimes want you to pay a deposit on what you are getting done. For the cleanliness issue--go check the place out before you commit to anything. Ask to see their equipment--see if they have an autoclave machine for sterilization, see if they wear gloves while working on clients, make sure they have individually sealed needles that are only for one-time use--afterall, it's your right to ask these questions, and if they are hesitant to tell you or won't tell you, take your business elsewhere! This day and age, hepatitis and other diseases are so easily transmitted, don't take a risk by an unclean piercing environment. Ask to see pictures of their previous work as well.. if they don't HAVE pictures, or the pictures aren't of nice work, don't let them pierce you!
And as far as I know, most piercing shops only let you get pierced underage if you are like 15 or 16 years old AND your parent/legal guardian signs release forms allowing you to get it done. Sorry, but there's most likely not a way you can get it done underage without mom or dad knowing. If they ARE willing to pierce you underage, they aren't a respectable shop.
And yes, retainers are basically just a clear ring instead of metal. It's not gonna make your piercing invisible, but less visible to people that don't know you've done it... and you won't be able to change the ring right away. You must let it heal just like anything else to avoid infection (eek and the pain of tearing a wound!!).
And speaking from experience (I have 7 piercings and 2 tattoos) the nose was the worst one. Granted, it was the fastest and the pain afterward (healing time) wasn't bad.
Hope I helped a little, and take your time finding someone you will allow to pierce you--don't rush!

you get it done at a professional piercing studio or tattoo shop. Any piercing place at a mall does not count as a professional piercer. You know it's sanitary and professional if it appears to be as clean as a doctor or dentist's office. Needles should be new and unopened. They should set up their equipment in front of you, clean your skin, and wear gloves at all times. And it should be a needle piercing. if someone offers to pierce your nose with a gun, that place is not where you should go for a piercing. Same with the underage stuff. a reputable piercer will have age guidelines and be unwilling to break them.

you shouldn't take this piercing out for several months. To do so will prolong healing time, increase the risk of infection, and in be uncomfortable to you in general.

There are many places to get it done. Where exactly do you live, because it is important that you add your location or where you will be when you get it pierced so people from that area can reccomend places for you to go. I got my nose pierced at a very sanitary and professional piercing and tattoo parlor when I was only 14 years old. I used to wear retainers to school to cover mine up and yes they work. They are just clear and you can see them; however, most workplaces allow them. They tell you not to change your piercing for a certain amount of time however after a few days you can just take it out and switch it with a clean retainer as long as you insert the retainer immediately after you remove your nose ring. If you need anymore answers just let me know.

Tattoo parlours often do double as piercing parlours. You can simply look up in the yellowpages.com for piercing parlours.

Sanitary places have certificates and auto-claves, with every single instrument wrapped individually. You can ask them lots of questions before making an appointment.

Sadly, good places will not pierce you if you are underage without parent consent. Either get your parents to agree, or wait until you are 18.

Nose piercings should only be done with a needle. Not a gun. Make sure you ask, because some odd places pierce with guns, and that is bad.

As for hiding it... I kind of wonder what's the point then? You can get a very small piercing that is hard to see. It is usually better to wait for it to heal before changing it.

Hope it helped! I got my nose done over 2 years ago, and don't regret it at all!

You can get it done at most tattoo and piercing parlours. Make sure they use a needle and not a gun, as a gun may cause crushing damage and may scar.

In some parlours, you can be pierced underage providing you have parental consent. This will depend on local laws.

You won't be able to change the jewelery through your piercing for several months as it may lead to infection or cause healing issues.

Check out places like bmezine.com for more information.

why u are so eager at yr age piercings at this age might turn out to ugliness later on .still if u want to wear a ring i suggest to wear clippons(press earings ) which are easily available in market .no problem for:
1 .covering spot
2 .infection
3 . under age problem
4 . or consulting yr parents
you can remove it whenever u want , its even cheaper (depends on choice),
contact me if u want to know more
i do the same bcoz i was mad behind piercing but my mother made me understand & now i wear clipons whenever i want & remove it when not necessary
tell me yr location if i can suggest anything
