You need the peroxide AND the bleaching powder. And it is not the normal HYDROGEN PEROXIDE that you buy at the drugstore. Hair peroxide will do it without the bleach, but will seriously damage your hair because you have to leave it in so long. It will burn your ends. You will probably need a cut after doing it with just the peroxide. Even the hair stylists really hate bleaching hair. It could turn all kinds of different colours. You really should let them do it, cause they will HAVE to fix it. Good Luck.

I used to use peroxide to put streaks in my hair. I don't know what color hair you have, but mine is very dark brown. You have to peroxide it quite a bit to get it to turn blonde....at first it will turn an orangish color, but the more you do it, the more blonde it will turn. It won't be the beautiful blond that you see from actual bleaching. Also, it peroxide is VERY damaging to your hair. Use an actual bleaching kit instead.

No H2O2 (peroxide) will not lighten your hair. It will raise your cuticle and strip out valuable proteins. Thus making your hair appear a different shade. And then it will break off. Go to a professional it will look allot nicer and be cheaper in the long run.

DON"T DO IT!!! You could very well end up with some seriously funky orange hair! Go to a professional, or at the very least, buy haircolor at the drug store.

You can but its risky! You risk turning your hair orange, damage, or worse! I would save the money and go to a salon.
