Thailand recently switched to what they call a two-tier currency exchange rate. They now have what they call an "offshore" rate to counterbalance a spate of currency speculators who have driven the baht way up in recent months. The above answer currently reflects the offshore rate. The rate within Thailand yesterday was about 35.9 to one US dollar. Of course, that is the official rate, and any currency exchanges will be a few tenths or so lower. So, if you're coming to Thailand, wait until you get here to exchange money to get a better rate, however, if the baht keeps rising (as many predict), you might want to "speculate," and lock in your rate.

Currently it is about US$1 to 35 baht, give or take a few satangs.

The rate changes daily and will depend on when you are doing the exchange. It will be good to visit Thailand with an international ATM card, you get the better inter-bank exchange rate when you withdraw in bahts in Thailand then having the currency exchanges at the money-changer.

Do this all the time when I am in Thailand.

The baht has been fluctuating widely for the last few months, but expect about 1 USD = 35 THB, this can go up and down somewhat, but seems to be stabilizing in the last few days. Remember, there is a cost involved in "buying" currency as well as losses in "selling". If you think of about a third for the conversion rate, you should be OK.

Currency Converter.

Note, that depending on where you do the actual exchange, e.g. at the Airport, hotel, bank, etc...the rate will change/vary slightly depending the fees/% that the establishment takes.

Current Exchange:
