Mr Sceptic, If the global warming problem is as bad as we are told by the so-called experts do you seriously think the tiny measures you recommend will make the slightest difference.
My advice to you is see a shrink, you are seriously deluded and easily led by the rest of the panic merchants.

As an example lets study the car industry.
If The EC gets it's way car makers face having to spend millions improving the environmental aspects of their cars.
This will add many thousands of pounds to the price.
The result; fewer people will buy cars resulting in factory closures and lost jobs.

I'll probably look for work in one of these growing fields:
Harvesting stem cells
Providing health care to illegal immigrants
Officiating gay marriages
Manufacturing flammable flags
Prying guns out of cold, dead hands.

Barrie G:

There's no point in having a slanging match - please have a look at the following links regards evidence and proof, current political stance, the economics, methods to enact change to address these problems and other sh1t that might be in store too.

Our economy is in a constant state of flux and change is a key driver in keeping our economies vibrant (and competitive). The global warming issue will result in more jobs from meeting that challenge and fewer jobs as old ways of doing business fall out of fashion or are legislated against - it's always been this way.

So economically if we act now it will bring change, but thats nothing new. If we deny the problems and delay our response to them - then there will be a heavy price to pay.

However, we do have to act - that's now no longer an issue for debate.

Stop being a conspiracy theorist prat and wake up.

Global warming is real. After years of observation human activity is viewed as the most likely reason for this. Perhaps by cutting carbon emissions we can combat this. So use your car less. Switch off lights. Don't leave the TV on stand-by. Turn the heating down by one degree and put a jumper on. Are any of these major lifestyle shifts which will ruin your quality of life?

You haven't explained how an attempt to combat global warming will lose me my job. Probably because you can't. It's real, not some vendetta against you personally!

Millions of tons of crap DAILY into the atmosphere is nothing to sneeze at. Pun intended.

We are shrewing ourselves over for a buck.
Shooting ourselves in the herd.
Stepping on our own ducks.
Cutting off our nose to spite our finch.
Kicking ourselves in the asparagus beetle.

For the almighty dollar we're ruining it for everybody and everything, and people who deny it are three fries short of a Happy Meal.
Have a nice day.

Do what i did and move into the fast growing environment industry - there is not much you can do if you work for the zealots in the first place even if your not one of them

I would start a company to educate cretins that global warming is an issue that affects us all.
Stop burying you head in the sand and wake up to the fact that we have a problem.

I absolutely agree with you. Global Warming is nothing but a liberal scam to gain more seats in the government. It will cause all the current auto makers to lose money (and cut jobs) to produce expensive technology. The consumer will have pay twice as much to buy a car. The scientists that say that global warming exists are embarassing themselves and jumping on the band wagon.
