You ask alot of questions, but brought up so many good points.
As you are aware, the Bible and all it stands for IS under attack.
The popular culture, in any age, has been pretty much opposite of scripture.
Now in our time, the attacks are worse, and many come from inside the church! Well meaning but deceived leaders have brought doubt and division concerning the Word of God.
During the last century, a group of men came together and drew up a document they called the Humanist Manifesto. A completely atheistic work, it detailed their points they chose to believe in, basically, it put man on the throne, and denied there was any God at all. More recently, a second version of that was written.
This was the basis of what has now become the underlying philosophy in this culture. And it has spread.
About the time that first document was written, the church was grappling with the growth of Liberalism within itself. Which thing can be traced back to the theology that came from Germany in the middle of the 1800's. A big proponent was Karl Barth, and his work "Neo-Orthodoxy." Which was in reality neither new, nor orthodox.
Sometimes it helps to look beyond the situation you see in history in order to gain a clearer understanding of what things have changed, or twisted.
The direction every nation is going in is a scary one. The Bible does tell us what will happen though, so don't be surprised.

1. Both views are correct. Some "folks" do accept it today, even though it is a relic. I think you are one of them, and many of your deluded comrades visit this forum.
2. I don't know how you can say that the bible and god have taken a "backseat" in the USA. The USA is the most religous of the modern industrialized nations by a very large percentage. The only other countries that exceed the USA in religious belief are Muslim countries.
Christians are in the majority. We secularists are fighting tooth and nail to keep your religious beliefs out of government, schools, and law. You have every right to worship your choice of deity in any way you choose, but you do NOT have the right to impose your beliefs on the rest of us through public policy.
The USA does have the highest rate of religiosity, belief in God, angels Satan etc etc in numerous polls when compared with western Europe, Canada and Japan.
At the same time, the USA also has the highest rates of illiteracy, homicide, violent crime, teen pregnancy and abortion, and incarceration. It has the greatest disparity among the rich and the poor. It has one of the lowest rates of graduation from high school or enrollment in University when compared to all those other "atheist" countries.
Explain that god-boy.

Christ did not say, "Sit down and write Bibles and scatter them over the earth, and let every man read his Bible and judge for himself." If Christ had said that, there would never have been a Christianity on the earth at all, but a Babylon and confusion instead, and never one Church, the union of one body. Hence, Christ never said to His Apostles, "Go and write Bibles and distribute them, and let everyone judge for himself." That injunction was reserved for the Sixteenth Century, and we have seen the result of it. Ever since the Sixteenth Century there have been springing up religion upon religion, and churches upon churches, all fighting and quarreling with one another, and all because of the private interpretation of the Bible.
One cannot have God for his Father, who will not have the Church for his Mother, and likewise, one cannot have the Word of God for his faith who will not have the Church for his teacher. It is the infallible teaching authority of the Church, as promised by Christ, which alone preserves God's Word from erroneous interpretation.
It is Divine Faith alone by which we give honor and glory to God, by which we adore His infinite wisdom and veracity. That adoration and worship is necessary for salvation.

I think you should learn about a lot more about the words Society and Culture, because as well as you learn not to trust th Bible as been the best book ever, I think you should look more into what your own people in your own Country have try to tell you and teach you about the so call perfect society and /or Culture, there is more culture you can have and learn from all and extinct societies that although they didn't have as much technology as we do now a day's, they where more Humans, that the Humanity we can see in this day's. my self I do which for you to achieved a better and truthful answer, because my self, I renounce to accept my own Society at 12 years old, because I though and I learn it was corrupted, as every other society, as well that I will never accept the U.S., society because to my knowledge its of non-existence, though and because we are communicating or trying to communicate I will accept any time your own self as my society, simply because I can believed in what you write. To my perception a society can't become if they don't have and posses a powerful Culture, and if I'm not mistaking U.S., has never havd a Culture of its own we are just working in it, though it will take some milllions of years for such Culture to be strongh and trutful to humanity for Humans to begin then to work in extablishing a true and uncorrupted positived Society, and not a wannabe society of materilistic values and believed that are complitly opposit to what God intended for huamnity to become and achieved. thank-you.<< as a fellow Human I will recomend to you to concentrate in what the Bible said, not in what Society said, because all of what society doe is to go against the Bible, againsy jesus and God, and the Holly Family.

Yes, the Bible is still accepted by million of people. We live in a world that is fallen and dying. Satan is working overtime to destroy God's people and take many souls to hell with him. It is a time to stay strong in the Lord, take a firm stand for your beliefs. I listen to Dr. J. Vernon McGee on the radio, he is a Bible teacher, his program is going out all around the world and many people who have not heard the gospel message are getting to hear. That is what we need to do. If you are interested in listening to this fine teacher his website is www.ttb.org. God Bless.

This country as well as every other human form of government is soon to be done away with in the day of Armageddon. Then Jesus will lead God's kingdom (government) forever.
It should not be a surprise that things today are the way they are. Everything you described can be found in 2Timothy 3:1-5
"But know this that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self control, fierce, without love of goodness, betrayers, headstrong, puffed up, lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, having a form of godly devotion bu proving false to its power.

Carman is Awesome
It is true that in modern society, most have shunned the Bible. that is a very bad thing. People just have found alternatives that "feel good" They dont realize the consequences of their actions, or failure to act. it has become acceptable for those who call themselves Christians to compromise their faith, and that is very bad

America was founded on the principle of freedom. Freedom to live your life the way you want, and to choose which religion you wish to follow. This is not possible if the religions of others are made into legislation. This was the purpose of separation of church and state. It was not to "kick christ out", it was to allow everyone the chance to worship (or not to) any God(s) they wished. If something is immoral in the eyes of your religion, then do not practice it, but do not expect in this free country that your religious morals should apply to all, including those who do not share your beliefs. Live and let live my friend.

Wow, good point. I think that it's time for the third Great Awakening. Before the first Great Awakening, many churches in the American colonies failed to preach the gospel, therefore many church members -and even ministers- remained unconverted. They lacked spiritual zeal because they only practiced a cold formalistic Christianity, but had never received Christ as their savior. The land was in desperate need for revival. In the mid-1700s, both America and England experienced a revival of Biblical Christianity. In England, it was called the Methodist Revival because one of its results was the organization of the Methodist denomination by John and Charles Wesley, but in America, it was called the Great Awakening. Jonathon Edwards and George Whitefield played especially important roles in the Great Awakening. These men were on fire for God (not literally, of course) and the efforts of their sermons to thousands of people at a time resulted in the salvation and revived flames of countless Christians. Many new churches were founded and, as a result, this revival profoundly affected the course of American history.
This is what we need in America. We don't have to be persecuted to have our faith revived (as I have heard some say). We just need people who are willing to witness and people who are willing to listen.
