PEOPLE - Use the space and make the case.

NOTE: Watch carefully to see if anyone can offer real, practical reasons to treat Muslims kindly as opposed to blind religious giggerish like "you should treat everyone well".

Im look for something like this:

"Yes, we should treat all Dutch people kindly because their cultural view is predominately based on the Golden Rule. There is no evidence now or from the past, that Dutch culture will eventually reach a critical mass and threaten to impose their laws and beliefs.

Furthermore, Dutch people contribute to American culture and embrace it. Making Dutch people feel uncomfortable serves no purpose at all because they pose no threat and are intigrated, thus we merely hurt ourselves, as a country, by hurting them.

Therefore, it doesnt serve the interests of the country to mistreat Dutch people and force them to leave the country because they benefit the country, are part of the country, and pose no harm to it"

Your premise is stupid. Unless it serves the interests of the country, we should treat people badly? If Muslims in the US were to cause problems in the US, it wold be because of people like you who make life unbearable. Part of the reason there has been no natives of the US of Muslim decent participating in those kind of activities because they are able to live their lives here without a huge amount of problems.

That's like blaming all Christians for being homophobic psychopaths...

Keep this in mind: all religions, all races, and all other types of groups have a certain group of people involved called @$$holes.

Every human being on Earth deserves the same amount of respect as every other human, unless that individual has given reason to deserve disrespect. That's all there is to it. There is no religious connotation, no ifs or except fors or as long as they...

Americans are blaming a religious group. How is that productive in fighting terror (although I highly doubt fighting terror is even on the agenda)? Just because a lot of Muslims are terrorists, doesn't mean they all are. Most Muslims I've known are very nice cordial people. They're just really religious. There is nothing wrong with that.

Should Americans hate all Germans because of WW2 (again- I have my doubts of intention in this area as well)? Should Americans hate all white people because of Ed Gein? That kind of logic holds us back. We need to start tackling problems, not tackling statistics. Just because there is a ratio of Muslims to Muslim terrorists that shows there are X# of Muslim Terrorists, or the fact that it was Muslim Terrorists who hit the WTC?

I am a country girl. In my community respect is hard earned and easy to lose. We would not treat a Muslim poorly or well based on anything other than our experience with that person. I have had the pleasure to travel extensively and meet many kinds of people in my short 28 years. There are jerks in every culture, every religion, every race, sexual orientation and age.
Long story short, a person should be treated as an individual.

I do not hate Islam; I have Muslim friends. But what you say is very confusing since I have read parts of the Quran that advocate stoning people and killing non-believers. p.s. Your English is good, but here's a correction for you: "I *suppose* my student didn't come to class because he doesn't have the homework he was *supposed* to do for today."

To begin with, in my opinion, which I now freely express, you lay down far too many rules. If you want an academic discussion, you need to go somewhere other than Y/A. Setting forth paragraphs of admonitions only makes you look bad.

I don't think we should treat muslims unkindlily. Maybe just soap their windshields in the parking lot at the mosque.
Thank you.

We should treat all people kindly because it would improve our world if everyone were to treat everyone kindly.

Or if that approach is too complicated for your mind to understand, here's one that's simpler: we should treat everybody kind;y because it is in our own best interest. If we treat someone kindly they are more likely to treat us kindly. Therefore, it benefits us.

There are many Muslims that do contribute to our society and there are many that are radical extremists. How do you throw out the bath water without throwing out the baby?

I understand what your saying however I don't think we should round them up as we did the Japanese in WW2.

If you promote and follow an agenda to treat any group of people unkindly they'll have all the more reason to cause harm to you.

First off "you should treat everyone well" is not religious gibberish, it is common sense - treat everyone the way you wish to be treated makes perfect sense and the person's religion or nationality is irrelevent.
