Usually if a guy asks a girl to go out it mean to go out on a date. Not everyone does the same thing on a date. Depending on the age - I'm assuming youre young. He might meet you at the movies or have his parents bring ya'll to the movies and maybe get something to eat. It's hanging out but a little more than just friends.

They hang out and usually when a guy asks a girl out it means that he probably likes the girl so he is giving her a trial to find out if he could be her boyfriend. Then if he doesn't like the girl he doesn't ask her out again or remain friends. So now you know but don't go jumping into conclusions he could be just really wanting to hang out and thought of her as a friend and ask her out.

It usually means he likes her or he's trying to get in her pants....depends on the situation. And ya, they do hang out somewhat. Even going on a romantic date at a fancy restraunt is considered hanging out in my book. Only difference is a friend will tell you "goodnight , see you tomorrow" or something like that after the "date". If she really digs you she'll say yes if you ask her for another date or even better, invite you in for a while to chill or do whatever that may come up :)
