My wife miscarriaged our son six months into the pregnancy. She a sonogram done at 13 weeks and was told there was nothing wrong and that everything was perfect.Blood work was later done to check and make sure that the baby was in good health,it came back good.Six months later she lost the baby.the Doctor at the hospital said that plasenta was to low and that the pregnacy was a high risk pregnancy. He wanted to know if her doctor found anything during the first sonogram she said no
Is the doctors office responsible for what happend,if so what can I do about this???

You need to get a second opinion (if possible) and contact an attorney. Don't discuss this with the hospital or the doctor's office. You need to just contact an attorney.

First let me say I am sorry for your stillborn. I know and understand what you are going through. I hope you are moving on in hopes.

Second, do some research on the internet with a good google search. I do not know if there is anything you can do, but in the first sonogram they should have SEEN that the Placenta was low and marked it high risk. I do believe that you may be able to do a Neglect case! Not sure though...

I do hope you find answers, real answers to this...if need be consult a local attorney and see if they will give you a free consulation.

Best wishes,

Chances are no - because things can develop later on in pregnancy and even if there was something wrong, chances are nothing could been done while in utero. I'm very sorry for your loss and I know that you want to blame someone (my sister went through the same thing except her baby was born full term and it turned out the radiologist missed the fact that the babies left ventricle of the heart had not developed and her son died 4 days after birth) but it would be easier for you and your wife if you deal with your loss now and grieve instead of keeping it going with a lawsuit that will probably not end on your side. Take Care.

Note: my sister and her husband tried a lawsuit because it was obvious to all doctors that looked at the ultrasound that at 12 wks there was something wrong with the heart and at 20 weeks that the baby wasn't going to make it without a heart transplant. They ended up giving up halfway through because it was too painful for them to deal with on that level. They needed to grieve and move on with life. The radiologist has since retired.

Not likely - at 13 weeks the placenta still could have moved - mine did with my current pregnancy ~ around 12 weeks it was covering my cervix and then moved sometime after. If she miscarried because of a low-lying placenta (which I highly doubt is the actual reason for the miscarriage), it is just nature's fault, not the fault of the physician as there is nothing they could possibly have done. All you can do is help your wife and give yourselves time for your hearts to heal and don't beat yourself up over "what if's". Don't look to blame your physician unless they were TRULY negligent, although it doesn't really sound as if they were.

I would tell the doctor you want a copy of the sonogram results and I would take them to another doctor and see what he says. Call a lawyer and tell then the situation and they will tell you if you have a case or not

i think i would not worry about blame, i don't think there would have been anything they could have done, i am so sorry for your loss, but right now your wife and you should not be thinking about blame sometimes there just isn't anyone to blame, try not to fill yourself with anger, i have had three miscarriages, it is so very hard, and for dad, no one ever thinks to say sorry to the dad, its very hard, you will never forget it but try to move ahead, i now have 5 children after those miscarriages and doctors who told me i would never have children, i wish you and your wife the best, i will keep you in my prayers

the placenta might have been low, but it probably wasn't the reason that she lost the baby. i have had a low placenta with both my children and nothing happened. if the placenta was the cause, she would have been bleeding very badly because of it.
