This isn't much info to go on. It could be because her home life is troubling, it could be partly hormonal, depending on her age, it could be that she's a moody person. These things could all be within the range of normal. But if she'd really hurt a person or an animal, or if she already has, that isn't normal. Does she believe she needs help? Is there a counselor or special teacher in school you could safely confide in? What about your parents? As her friend, you have to walk a fine line between saying and doing too much and saying and doing too little. Find an adult you can really trust and hopefully they can guide you through this. Good luck.

Hello there just wanted to let ya know I'm the wife of a bipolor husband. The systems you've said your friend has is the same ones that my husband had. He would be just as nice as he could be and then in the same breath he would be cussing me out for no reason. The hard part was is making him see what he was doing to his family because he didn't see how he would change. Finally he went to the dr. and was told he was bipolor. Now he takes his meds everyday and he is the gentle, fun, happy person I married. He's been on meds for two yrs and will be on them for the rest of his life. It is caused by a chemical imbalance in the front of the brain. So you need to get her to a dr. and get her on the proper meds and then you won't believe the difference in her behavior. Good luck and I hope your friend gets better.

You don't really give enough detail to tell. If she is there is nothing you can do, she needs to see a psychiatrist and get medication to stabilize her.
