i have just did a sponge, and i put in the oven it was like 5 cm high, and i preheated the oven, and put it there at temp 190 for 40min, and was still raw, now i increased it to 220 and has been thee for 10 min and still raw. pls help me what is the ideal temperature, and for how much time?

i do mine on 180 for about 45 min and it's perfect :)

Not sure of the timings- depends on what you are making and the size.
If it is coming out 'raw' in the middle, you need to turn the oven down, not up! That will give the middle a chance to cook before the outside burns...

Keep the oven door shut, the temperature is right. It will need another 10-15 minutes. Be patient.

Sponges need low temperatures for a long time. Yours is too high.

well have you opened the oven because if you open the oven youre cake can go down flat

Chuck it and start again. Use a recipe book to give you the right temperature and timing.

its probably been spoiled now after you keep opening the door .

is heat coming from oven?
