Who agrees with spanking kids and until what age?

Yes we agree with it, as to what age, well my oldest is 10 and she knows very well, that if she steps over that line, a spanking is waiting on the other side. Needless to say, she is 10 so she likes to walk all the way up to the line, maybe push it a little, but very rarely crosses it. So I'd say it's more up to the children, however we as a family are aiming to stop spanking around 12 or 13 at the latest. However these kids that post questions complaining that they just got the spanking of their life, and stating they are 14-17 and are just to old for that treatment, even though they acted completely childish. I say props to the parents. I don't think I'd use the same methods though.

I don't have kids but I come from a really big family...my mother has 8 kids total and each and every one of us was spanked, from the time we learned what bad behavior was, for however long it took us to realize that certain behaviors are not allowed. Honestly once kids get past a certain point they will either learn to change their behavior, or learn how not to get caught. If you find that is happening, it is time to move from spankings to punishments which will hit closer to home and impact them on a personal level. I.E. for a child who loves video games, take those away, one who loves collecting will simply have their collection revoked, etc. This should definitely make them think twice before challenging adult autority again!!

spanking your child can be bad if you don't know what the limit as if you hit to hard as some grown up don't know how to stay in control. Some people hit there kids for the Little's things like if there work was not going very good so they take it out on the kids. I have seen so many people hit there kids for no reason and they not only don't care who is around when it is done. You have to think why are children now a days are so out of control and get in trouble with the law..well look at the home life and how the children have been raised..this is one reason why kids today are bullies and bad. there is a limit to spanking kids. I wa spanked when i was little and we got hit with a metal belt buckel and a wooden spoon. My self and sister and brother we hit on a daily base and it was not that we doing do what we were told to do as we did. Are father hit us for the fun of it cause he wanted to see us in pain. We were never bad kids always came home and did what were told to do..but we have no friends as we had to stay home..so spanking is bad

I do not believe you should spank a child under 2 years old they don't understand why your hurting them and i think it should stop as soon as there old enough to explain to you why what they did was wrong(7-8 y/o) but even after that there are times where you may need to give them a swat for something really big they did

I am a firm believer in spanking, as long as you don't beat them!! I think spanking are fine if nothing else works or if its something that could cause them injury ( running in the road, playing with a lighter, ect.).

It also says in the bible that you spank your children:
Proverb 29:15 Thy rod and reproof give wisdom, but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame
Proverb 13:24 He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes

So therefore, I am a firm believer in spanking. I think it helps with teaching right from wrong and that wrong decisions have major consequences. This is a leason they can take with them through out their life. I know many people that were not spanked as children and they have many problems as adults because of the lack of corpral punishment!!!
