unfortunately, the time and money for a suit are probally more that you just having the problem fixed.
Often they can drill a small hole and pull the dents out making the car look a lot better without costing an arm and a leg like a complete fix if $$$ are more of an issue than a perfect car.

You can file suit yourself in small claims court. You will have to find out which court has jurisdiction where the accident occurred. The investigating police officer will probably know.
You have to pay a fee. A hearing is scheduled. You present your case. Bring a police report, estimates, and anyone who may have been a witness.
If you get a judgment in your favor, you may not get anything if the perp has no assets.

If you call a lawyer be aware that even though they say if you don't get money they don't get paid, that isn't exactly true. You will have to pay any expenses that they pay out on your behalf. Which can add up.
You are probably better going through small claims court. Good luck.

Check your local yellow pages. You need to talk to a lawyer that specializes in this type of problem. Also, choose a lawyer that gives a free consultations and one that doesn't get paid unless YOU do.
Good luck.
