i mean, before i read the story and watched all the news reports, I really didn't trip off of killers. but now, whenever i get home, i'm very cautious. i'm afraid someone's gonna break into my home and God knows what would happen. I double lock my doors at night, I'm afraid to walk home alone from school, and I'm paranoid all of the time, and I can't even sleep at night sometimes!!!! Is this normal after you've heard a story like BTK????? am i just tripping, or is this standard procedures to take while living your daily life?

Well hon, some of the things you do are great! It's good to be cautious, exspecially ( boy did I mess that word up) in todays world.Double locking your doors is also good.If it took watching that show to get you to be cautious, I think you should have watched it a long time ago.It is'nt standard procedure to not be able to sleep at night thoough. At night before going to bed, ask God to keep you and your family safe and have faith that He will take care of you.I know He will. But being safe in todays world is just fine hon.You keep up the good work!!

Get security installed in your home so it's harder to break in. But there will always be people like the BTK on this world sadly so there's not much that you can do. Unless you want to become a police officer to help control these types of people

I am always afraid too. I don't shower if there is no one home. I was addicted to reading about serial killers because I wanted to know why they do such things. But I came to the conclusion that I can't live my life being afraid. It's good to be cautious but don't let it rule you. Try doing a self defense class to build your confidence. Perhaps you could talk to someone about your fears.

While it's always a good idea to be cautious, don't let fear rule your life,if you think too much about something bad happening to you it will.Keep locking up your house, always do the buddy system thing but don't loose sleep over it.If you find your fear is geting the best of you seek help inmediately.

Ed Gein is my well-known of all of them. I ensue to love the actuality that Charles Manson is often seen a Serial Killer yet purely had a lot skill to make others do his grimy artwork. I as quickly as took a Psych type that became all approximately serial killers, and it became the main pleasing preparation I ever had. a solid fictional serial killer is "Dexter". in case you get Showtime I exceptionally propose the coach. Season 2 starts this nighttime.

i really like reading about all that stuff, i read mystery and thriller books....but i understand what you mean. i dont see anything wrong with being cautious..its actually a good thing to be on guard. when i go walking or running i am constantly looking behind me and stuff but i dont think your "tripping" at all...i think its actually a good thing as long as you dont live your life locked up in your bedroom :)

I would talk to a theropist. Its one thing to be cautious but its another to have a phobia. If its disrupting your lifestyle you need to work it out with someone that is trained to do it in a couple of sessions.
