My friends are always on diets and I am not. When I go to restaurants with them, they always pick on my menu choices - if I order a salad, they say "Oh! just a salad, that's why you are so thin". But if I order lasagna, then they say "I hate you". OR, we will all go out shopping and none of them want to stop for a coffee or a snack, because they are all on diets. So I end up feeling faint. It is not a huge deal, but sometimes it just gets on my last nerve.

To be honest, even though people of all weights can have self-esteem issues with their own bodies, the incredibly skinny will *always* be more socially accepted than the incredibly heavy. You might feel awkward about being really thin, but you will always be picked by society over someone weighing 300 pounds. Not that it makes it right to comment on anyone's weight, but keep in mind that society gives heavier women more of a reason to be shameful, and therefore knowing that they have little to no shot, heavier women can resent that and it can come out in comments like that to someone close to them.

Hi, my heavier friends do not give me a hard time because it shouldn't matter who you are or what you look like. A good, fun, and easy exercise that everyone should enjoy is walking. So maybe if you and your friends walked somewhere, like a park or something like that, you can do that, or try to do that, daily, like maybe two times a week, or three times a week. Walking is fun because you can talk and such. And then you can jog to pick up the speed and to make it a little bit harder. And then after your walk you can eat fruits and such. So that way you are helping your friends and yourself. I don't know if this will help, but I hope it does. Hope everything will get better for you, bye!

Yeah, I completely understand. I've had a fast metabolism my whole life (so far) and I never hear the end of it. People tell me that I need to put meat on my bones, call me anorexic, and yell at me when I complain that my pants are too small... They are just uncomfortable with the way they are. There's nothing wrong with you, but they are jealous. You can always grab a snack or drink while they go on to the next store. It shouldn't matter to them what you do, and it shouldn't matter to you what they think about what you do.

I am thin, and my bigger friends seem ok with it. But I hate when people tell me that I need to eat more! I eat like a pig, yet I don't gain any weight. It's the people that don't know you that have the problem with your weight. Look at Monique, she says she likes being big-- and I am glad-- but why pick on thin people all the time??

I'm with you... it gets on my nerves too. Why it is okay to pick on thin people but NEVER on heavier people I will never know. Everyone has feelings, big - thin - or in between. They should know it hurts your feelings or just plain ticks you off. Tell them so.

As a formerly really skinny girl who had friends who were heavier...

I didn't understand it until I got older, got pregnant, gained weight, and struggled to lose it.

It's hard to understand if you haven't walked a mile in their shoes. But try to understand, and realize that it might not always be so easy to be so thin.

They are harder on themselves than you could ever be to them.

Yes, my friends always call me anorexic, even if they aren't heavy, because I always forget my lunch money and I'm thin. I eat all the time at home! It's sooo annoying.

Take care of yourself. Don't worry what they say. Get that coffee roll if it'll keep you going. And the next time they make a snide comment, say "thanks for your concern, but I'm really alright" (accompanied by a fake smile).

yeah, it sucks. my friends all used to do the same to me. they dont do it anymore though. once i ordered a cake at a cafe, and one of them called me a skinny *****, so i called her a fat *****. when she got all offended, i asked her why it was ok for her to pick on me and my body shape, but i couldnt do the same? that shut them all up and they hardly ever mention it anymore.

i hate how people think it is ok to harass and pick on skinny people because of their weight, when we arent allowed to do the same to people who are bigger. it still causes hurt feelings and psychological problems for us too.

Yes, I hate it. I eat a lot and People ask me, "Why don't you eat more?" and so I ask them "Why don't you eat less?", It's the same thing
