i did a sponge with 200g plain soft flour, and i added 2 teaspoons baking powedet. is that too much?

Just a bit,but don't worry too much it'll be right. All that will happen is the texture will be more holey,it shouldn't explode in your oven!

yes way too much. rule of thumb i say 1 tsp for 25og of plain flour

You should have added baking powder. Might have been fine.
