Believe it or not, some have difficulty adjusting. as a result, they become nostalgic about the UK. Their complaints do nothing to endear them to us locals, who refer to them as "Whingeing Poms".
The typical response is: If you don't like it here, f*ck off back home (wherever that is).
If, however, you are able to accept us as we are, faults and all, chances are you will settle in fairly easily.

Are you referring to difficulties with the visa process or adjusting to life in Australia?
To be eligible for a permanent visa you will generally need to:
- Be aged under 45 years
- Have a trade or profession, e.g. electrician, accountant, chef, nurse, etc...
- Have recent work experience in a skilled occupation
- Speak English
Adjusting to life in a new country can be difficult, I would recommend that if you are thinking about moving to Australia speak to your family and friends here to get there support (maybe they are interested in moving to Australia as well??). Next research areas in Australia - make sure that wherever you go will match the lifestyle you are seeking. Become involved in activities both before you leave the UK and when you arrive in Australia. There are loads of online communities for people moving to Australia, they often arrange barbeque's etc... in regional areas to get to know people before moving out to Australia.

If you have a career or a job that is in demand, then it's pretty easy. I'm from Venezuela and it took me only 9 months to get a Permanent Resident's Visa. If you are from the UK, the process will take only 4 to 6 months if you're qualified.
Check out the DIMIA web page where you can find all the info you want: http://www.immi.gov.au

I had a few friends from the UK in Australia. Since Australia is a commenwealth country, I do not think it is that difficult. You probably need to find a job willing to sponsor your visa, or enter the country as a student.

get a year long working visa and then when you are in work try and get sponsored. but be careful as some employers promise sponsorship so you work hard for 1 year then don't give you one. so ideally you need a specific trade that the ozzy's require.
best thing i did in oz was a road trip from sydney to ayres rock travelling through coober pedy.

As long as you have a trade or qualifications in demand in Australia and can pass the medical and police check, then no problems. Look at http://www.immi.gov.au for more info.

you need to have a trade, they don't really mind what trade as long it means you'll be able to find work and fend for your self. money wise its quite easy cause compared to the UK its quite a lot cheaper.
