It is expensive--figure $800-900 dollars if they need to re-tie the springs, replace the foam, etc--without the fabric. If you have a really good sofa frame (that is the most important), it is worth re-upholstering. They simply don't make the frames like they used to. Most reputable re-upholsterers will tell you if the furniture is worth it. I have gotten some beautiful fabric on Ebay--and saved a lot of money that way--ask your upholsterer to give you an estimate of the number of yards you will need and get a few extra yards for matching. Otherwise, you are better off watching for a sale and buying a new couch!

It depends on what is expensive? Sometimes it is more economical to buy a new one. The frame is the most important part of the sofa. It sounds like you have a sectional, so again depending on the size, if you supply the fabric (com) or leather (col).

How much did you pay for your sofa, do the cushions need to be replaced, etc. Good luck!

I'm in the DC area and just a couple months ago got an estimate on reupholstering my large couch - and he said around $600 if I buy the material.
