i have known him forever, he's one of my sisters old friends. i remember when i was about 14 i had a crush on him....a BIG one, i'd never liked someone so much. he moved away a couple of years ago. now he's back! and the crush is back, thanksfully not as painful as last time.
today he asked me out....i NEVER expected that. i said yes, well, of course i was going to say yes! but now i'm not so sure, it's a big age gap considering we're both only teenagers, i mean, it would be different if we were older. what should i do!
he's a very nice guy and i wouldn't do anything stupid....believeeee me! aslo....errrr maybe he thinks i'm 17...oops...

Look, that age difference is nothing big depending on how mature both of u two are. I like this girl thats also 16 and im 23. of course im patiently waiting till she turns of age,im no freak! but hey im happy that u got the guy u wanted and if u think u can handle the situation well, stay with him. Both of u can do some growing up together. Just get to know him a lil more and dont depend on how u felt for him b4 cuz that usually brings feelings that r not supposed to be there at such an early time.
God Bless.

What's the age of consent where you are? That should answer your question. If it's 18 then he can get arrested for just going out with you.
Since the age of consent is 16, then 3 years is no big deal. Just be careful because he may be wanting someone older in the future.

As mind blowing as this may be to you, you need to read this very carefully! At the age you are and the age he is at, YOU are nothing but JAIL-BATE!!!!!!! For this guy to ask you out despite the misbegotten belief that you're 17, not 16, is entirely wrong on his part! Fro your OWN safety, I'd strongly recommend NOT going out with him tonight and explain over the phone why you can't. If he has any intelligence whatsoever, he'll be like "oh duh dude! I forgot all about that! Sorry and thanks for reminding me!" If he's not as intelligent as I've given him credit for, well, swallow the lump in your throat, get some tissue and have a good cry over it. Yes, I know very well that it will hurt, but it's better than being guilty of getting someone thrown into prison(believe me, you DON'T want to know what really goes on in there!) just for going out with him!

I dont think theres anything wrong with it as long as he is a gentleman and does try to make you grow up to fast. It will be hard though becuase you are at different places in your life and there are things he might want to do or places hemight want to go that you can join him at becuaseof your age. Just give it a shot becuase you will never know but dont beat yourself up if it doesnt work out. Also be very up front with your parents about the situation so they dont freak out, make sure they meet the boy and trust him, parents are wierd about older boys (often times with reason) so just keep everything on the up and up so they dont have a reason not to trust you or him
Good luck

From a nonsexual dating perspective, it depends if you and he are on similar maturity levels. Should you want the relationship to become sexual, find out what the age of consent in your state is since you don't want him to go to jail; even if you are under the age of consent, some states allow a sexual relationship if the gap in ages is not too large but this varies from state to state. Also, tell him your age, he has a right to know that.

Well, assuming you guys continue to see each other, you need to be totally upfront with him about your age.
It will also depend on how emotionally mature you both are.
Remember that in most states the age of consent is 18, so IF (I'm not saying you will) you guys have sex, it could get him in a lot of legal trouble. Just a thought.......

First of all: do not do anything you'll regret. On this date, you know... The age difference? That doesn't matter. If you love each other, then don't worry about your age! Age can't stop true love. But be truthful about your age and tell him how you feel about him. But don't do anything stupid on this date, as I said. I know a girl who is almost 15 and her boyfriend is 19. Like I said, age doesn't matter. It's your heart that does. :-)

Well when I met my better half she was 16 and I was 19. It's worked out fine with a few bumps here and there but I would say if you work hard at it you'll be fine. Keep your head on straight and make sure you consult with your parents if you have any serious problems.

Definetly. I just learned in school today that a person can't be in a sexual relationship with a minor three years or more younger than them. It's against the law. If you really love him, wait until you're legal...which means 17. No excuses.
