I'm 13, and I just got my 2/4 marking period report card. My parents (strict asian parents) are REALLY strict about my grades, ESPECIALLY reading and math. It was a friday, and i was very anxious to see the envelope of joy/doom we call report cards. To my dissapointment, i got a 70...on READING!!! I asked my very good friend Sean on the bus what i should do, because he's successfully hidden some of his cards before. He told me to fake the signature and hope my parents never bring the word 'report card', or i can use white-out and change the grade. I knew that since the report card was a VERY VERY thin piece of paper, the white out would be very noticable. I then spent atleast an hour trying to copy my mom's signature. Nothing worked. SO TO ALL THE KIND PEOPLE OUT THERE, I NEED HELP!!!

Well, I see its' been 4 days now, I wonder what you did with the report card. I once tried to alter a grade in Trig from a D to a B. It bought me some time, but eventually I had to tell them. You can't change the past, but you can improve upon the future. My parents were very understanding about the trouble I was having with this particular subject, and I got some help the next term and a better earned grade. If I had told them earlier, I would have got help earlier, and I would have also had more self respect.

The guilt will eat at you until you confess, so throw yourself on the mercy of the court, and it will go better for you in the long run!

Your parents are not stupid. If you copy the signature or change the grade they will find out, and it will be MUCH worse than the 70 you got. It's better to tell the truth, show that you are very sad about it, and they will try to help. They are strict because they want the best for you.

Be a man about it and face the music. Actually, you write fairly well for a 13 year old. Anyway, imagine the heat you will get if they find out you did not show them the card, or worse, altered it in some way. Then, when they jump all over you about the low score, ask them what THEY will do to help you improve it. Will they hire you a tutor? But don't try to cheat. You start that stuff now and you will start down a road you don't really want to be on.

If you hide it and he's expecting it to come in the mail, he can just call the school and find out. It's best to be up front with him. As far as the spanking goes... that's a little overboard. No one should be hitting no one. You're too old to be spanked. Is your parents helping you with your homework or helping you study? They need to be helpful not hurtful. You simply need more help. Tell him that. A good parent can't and shouldn't refuse to help you with your school work. It may suck to have him helping but at least it'll help you stay accountable and he can't spank you if you do bad because he knows how hard you've been working with him studying.

There is no way to successfully hide your report card. Obviously, if your parents are strict then they would be paying attention to your school work and know that a report card should be coming soon. Using white out is noticeable and it will only get you in more trouble. Usually if you try to hide your report card your parents find out eventually and get even madder. Just show them.

Sorry, but you're going to have to give them the report card. Try giving it to them right before doing something, like when they're in a rush to get to work, or something. Hiding it will only cause you trouble, and faking it will be worse. Besides don't the report cards all have the grades from the previous terms on them? You'll have to pay the piper sometime...

The point isn't to hide it, its to make your parents ok.. In general the longer you wait to tell them, the madder they are, so spend a day sucking up to your parents and possibly reading some educationally enriching book in front of them (moby dick, tale of two cities?) then approach the lesser tempered one and say, I'm sorry i didn't do very well in reading and then spurt a thought out plan on how to raise your grade, they will be mad for only a bit then proud that your taking the initiative to fix the grade. if you hide it they will eventually find out and be really angry that you hid it. This works on my parents, they won't even except Bs.

I hate to tell you this, but I'm not sure you can. If your parents are as strict as you say, then eventually they'll bring up the subject. I suspect that, if necessary, one of them would call or even go to the school to find out what your grades are. When they find out that you did to try to hide it from them (and if they're that strict, they will...) then your punishment will be much worse. I know it's awful, but you may just have to take your punishment on this one. Sorry!

Well first of all you shouldnt be hiding your report card....
but you can say the teachers messed up your grade and still show it to her
orrr you can show them it but before you do, ask them what they got on their report cards and if its worse just use that as an excuse ( i do)
if they got good grades i would suggest the first one
but it would be a lot easier to tell the truth...
you would feel a lot better inside..=]

The punishment you will receive for the "bad Grade" will not be nears as bad as the punishment you will get when they find out you are hiding/tampering with your report card. Plus once you show them the stress is over. You won't be in constant worry that they will find out.
