OMG!! NEVER, and I mean NEVER give up your pet for ANY guy. Trust me, that is a HUGE RED FLAG!!!!
you need to make the cat a "package deal" thing, a " Love me, love my cat" thing. Guys come and go, you will be missing your kitty when you all break up and there is no one around to love you unconditionally! If he really loves you, he will accept /want you as you are and not try to pull crap like that. Kick him to the curb and find a real man that likes and is kind to animals.
Well, it seems everyone here is saying the same thing! I think you know what you need to do. Why you letting this guy try to make decisions like that for you? Use your own brain, be your own woman! Get a good man that loves you and your cat, and you'll be glad you dumped this jerk.
p.s. if you do decide to consider getting rid of her, first go to the SPCA and look at those cats, then ask to see the euthanized ones in the back. Then go home and look at your baby and picture her there, in that situation. Then think of the man who asked or told you to put her there. THAT is the kind of man he is.. Girl, don't walk away, RUN!

Cat or Boyfriend?
A pet is a member of the family, you probably would not want to throw any other family member out, why the cat?
Yet, may be your boyfriend has cat allergies? This could be a lack of homeopathic Silicea, which then would be taken daily for a long time. Best to get professional help from a homeopathic physician.
In case he just dislikes cats, may be you let him visit with your cat and see if he likes your cat. If not, you could see him some place else and leave your cat in the cat's and your home.

he doesnt even live with you?! then what you have at your house is your business not his...by asking this wuestion your already proving that you dont want to sell your cat. About the money thing..well what does he care because it would be your money anyway? And just a little info. you cant get that much for cats because you can find them for free in a lot of places. The most i have ever paid is $30 and that because she was spayed and had all her shots when we got her. Ask your self this...is $30 really worth losing the one friend you know will never lie or cheat on you? Come on now you dont even have to ask his question because i know you know the answer

OMG! That is a bad situation. I have always been very picky about my bf's; if they don't like kids or animals then I will not have nothing to do with them.
There are too many wonderful men out there that do like cats. Don't sell yourself short and take up with someone that is trying to control you and your life.
I would be careful he may just decide to dump your cat when you are not looking if you don't do as he says. If he doesn't like cats he may mistreat your precious kitty when you are not looking so keep the kitty away from him.
If I were you I would get another bf.

It is my opinion that you should be up front with him and tell him that you have a cat. Let him make a decision about continuing the relationship with you. Giving up the cat is not an option. If the boyfriend decided to walk because you have a cat, you and your cat are both better off. There have been many studies that prove that men who hate cats make poor husbands. They are domineering, demanding, and demeaning. You do not need that in your life. Stick with your little furry friend who will give you unconditional love, and will never give you a bad word. There are a few good men out there that adore cats, and the women who love them. Keep your eye out for one of them. That is a win-win situation.

If he acts like this over a cat, what will happen if you decide to have a child with this guy?? ( I use the term loosely) He should accept you for you- you know that. If he's this immature and greedy, what's to say he won't ask you to sell your car next?? Or your computer?? I think he's asking an awful lot and BTW what does he want the money for??

The boyfriend is bad news. Keep the cat and find a new boyfriend. Seriously, if he has this character he will not be good with you either.

First off, if he doens't know you have it, how can he want you to sell it?
If your boyfriend cannot accept your cat, because it is something you love, then your boyfriend obviously does not care that much for you. Explain to him how much you love your cat.
By the way, it iwll be hard to sell an adult cat for money as there is so many unwanted cats at the shelter being put to sleep.

I think you boyfriend needs to make a decision. Either be with you and the cat or not. You had the cat before him.
May boyrfriend is allergic to cats and is now taking allergy shots so that I could eve have a cat again. We just got a second one last week.
So, I think your boyfriend needs to think really hard where his priorities are.

No offense darlin, but you have really bad taste in men. Dump him. I had a cat, went thru many guys till I found the right one, and of course, my cat and I were a package. If you had a kid would you sell it for your stinking boyfriend too? Learn a little loyalty.
