No way He said that! This is a lie and you are of the devil. You think God would tell us to hate our own and love our enemies? You are wrong. REPENT SINNER.
You made that all up!
He said you must love your mother and father... to follow me,not hate you changed the words !
We can read too you know!
You got a devil in you. You want to go to Hell and burn up?
If he said that do you think we would follow Him. No!
So stop now, and repent and do not read the bible it is not for you until you repent!

Well, Jonathan you are quite right. It can be very difficult for someone to love his enemy! So the question becomes: Why did Jesus say we must love are enemies(Matt. 5:43, 44). Well, Jesus knew that if he and his followers should have love and compassion toward their enemies many become softhearted and become christians because of it. This is in harmony with Proverbs 16:7:“When Jehovah takes pleasure in the ways of a man he causes even his enemies themselves to be at peace with him.” An outstanding example of mercy toward an enemy is the treatment accorded by Jesus Christ to Saul of Tarsus (who became the apostle Paul).—Ac 9:1-16; 1Ti 1:13; compare Col 1:21, 22.

Jesus was using a relative (no pun intended, well, yes it was) expression to highlight the difference in feelings one would have about God and every and anyone else.

To be specific so that you might understand more easily, the love someone has for God should be such that the love held for anyone else would be so far down the line that it would look like hate.

You have to love God more than anything else.

I would say that your interpretation of the scripture is incorrect. I dont believe that the word hate is even in the bible.
