Many of us have been raised in a religious atmosphere, and know exactly what people mean when they talk about God, and what experiencing 'God' feels like, we just reject the fact that there is a supernatural, immortal, timeless being who cares about what happens in the world.

I don't reject this so-called fact. I don't consider it a fact at all.

If you knew God and He knew you then it would be impossible for you to reject Him. Many people have been raised in religion and some have studied and read the Bible for many years. Reading is one thing, understanding is quite another. God allows a person to discern His word, not us. Without discernment you're just reading a novel. Just as water baptism without faith is merely a bath. Without the Holy Spirit, both are worthless.

I don't know... I guess it's ignorance based on their life. People get ideas and think their ideas are the only one and the only correct ones. Somehow it never occurs to some that a few of us may have some relatively weighty degrees in religious studies and studies that go even beyond that. It never occurs to someone that you could be as well versed in a monotheistic religiion as you are in your own philosophy of atheism... and then I've run into the people who can't understand that if I know so much about their religion (Islam for an example) how I absolutely CANNOT accept it. The concept of analytical study and logic fails them.

Atheist believe that they are already a supreme being, therefore, not needing a higher power. They are lost souls in search of something but never find anything. We all need God in our lives. We need to pray often and thank God everyday for everything he has given to us. We go thru alot of turmoil, but in the end God is still there to see us thru it. Everything happens for a reason. Sorry, I was tending to ramble. God Bless!

They have 2 choices: be condescending and assume atheists just don't understand God....or feel really childish and embarrassed for believing in an imaginary magic ghost in the sky. Its easy to see why they pick the former.

Most likely because they so firmly believe in God, that they cannot understand some do not- and therefore "must" be misinformed or underinformed, or otherwise they would believe.
In most cases it's just an inability to understand that not everyone "needs" to have religious beliefs.

Simple. Religious people have been brain-washed into believing of the 'invisible man' that arbitrarily grants wishes, and are physically unable to understand that there is no such thing.

Like you said you REJECT THE FACT
If you ever truly experienced God, then you would know that he is real and that he exists.
Deep in their hearts, all atheists are afraid of God.
They know that they are wrong, and are afraid.
Unfortunately you are all just to proud to admitt it, and untill you do, you will face the eternal consequences.

Funny isn't it. If you don't believe in their version of the judgmental punishing God you don't understand.

Like most of us did not have that shoved down our throats for years.

Someone doesn't understand but I don't feel like its me.
