Add a little olive oil to his food. The vitamins in olive oil help a lot, my cat had the same, he's fine now.
Also Glavaderm liquid is a food supplement which cures it, but I don't know if the name of it is the same in the US (I live in Europe).
Don't shampoo the poor thing!

Go to the vet with your dandruff cat and ask for either a dandruff bath from the vet or ask for dandruff shampoo or conditioner

Are you sure it is dandruff?? My cat has feline acne! But Your cat will be what he eats. Make sure that he is getting enough water because if his skin is flaking it usually means hes dehydrated. He should have clean water daily. If this doesn't help then I would change his food. I only feed my cats Gourmet Classics made by NUTRO (max cat). It is guaranteed to improve skin and coat health, NATURAL ingredients and helps maintain urinary tract health.
But do what works for you! Good luck!

they sell dandruff shampoos at pet stores for animals. You could also call a vet and talk to them or any pet store and talk to a manager about the problem. One of my cats has it and it is an easy thing to sure. Bathing them is the not so fun part but it is worth it in the end

If you aren't already, switch him to canned food. Canned food contains a very high amount of moisture so the cat doesn't have to drink water.

I don't recall why, but it's not natural for cats to drink water so they tend not to drink enough (much like humans!) They're supposed to get moisture with their food.

My Poppy had bad dandruff which totally cleared up after switching her to canned food.

If you'd like more info, email me and I'll send you a bunch of links for info on good canned food and how to switch cats over to it.

Add a teaspoon of olive oil to his dry food daily, this will help his skin.

Also make sure that you have plenty of fresh water provided all around he house. Dandruff is often caused by dehydration. The more you can encourage him to drink the better.

Good luck

Give it a bath with a sensitive skin cat shampoo. After a good brushing.

You need to have his health evaluated. Something is wrong with his diet. Cats have some dander, but should not be a problem.

I think this is a great question for a vet. I am not aware of how to treat this, is it possible it is due to another health problem? Have you discussed this with a vet?
Good luck!
