What do you consider cheating? My friend from school is upset with her boyfriend because she found out he was talking to a ex of his by email. His ex was even sending pictures of herself to him! He said he wasn't cheating on her, he doesn't consider it cheating, he was just keeping in contact with her. He never asks for the pictures. Now she is very upset and wants to end their relationship over it but she loves him and doesn't know if she should just let it go. I personally don't think she should end the relationship over a email, I mean the girl lives across the country. I know I would not end my relationship over a email but if it happened again then I would end it because obviously he has no respect for their relationship if he does it again. What do you think she should do? Was he cheating? Would you end your relationship over a email?

I would ask to see the emails so i could make a good judgment. I would not leave him just for talking to her, but i would ask him to stop if it made me uncomfortable. If he did it behind her back after she asked him to stop then i would break up with him. It is disrespectful if he is hiding something, but if they are just friends that keep in contact and he is open about it then there is no need to dump him.

Why would he need to keep in contact with an ex girlfriend if the relationship was over? Would he allow her to do the same with an ex boyfriend? I would dump him there is always something sneaky going on when someone still contacts an ex.

One of the most important part of any relationship is trust ... your friend has to trust her boyfriend. He should have probably told her that his ex was contacting him, but ... I don't think emailing back and forth constitutes as cheating.
