and i have to go to one of the army schools are they good and will i fit in well is there much to do on the army baces i will be in cyprus army bace

Of course you will fit in, you will be with other students who all have parents in the army and you will all have that being away from home thing in common. The army like all other armed forces have a great social life and cater much more for this when abroad so you will get the chance to take part in lots of different team things etc. Cyprus is a great place, Paphos area is older but got good interesting sights, Limassol is great and Protarus is absolutely fantastic! Great beaches around there, restaurantss and nightlife, great for families! Enjoy and support your mum in every way, shes got a great opportunity!

Don't forget that all the other students in the school will be used to moving around a lot, going to new schools/making new friends so you will not be unusual as a 'new boy'. Some forces kids have been to 4 or 5 schools by the time they are 12.
The army also provide a lot of after school activities, especially at half-term & holidays, youth clubs, sports etc. Have a look at http://www.bfc.mod.uk/ (the official website) for a better idea of life in Cyprus.

Fitting in will all depend on how much of a social you are. A buddy of mine hated the army bases beyond belief. He was soon forced into drugs, alcohol. And has yet to be the same person since. But Goodluck!

I've lived in Cyprus when my dad was in the RAF, it was brilliant. Just think of all the beaches. The schools were just the same as any other school, but maybe with better discipline. I'm sure you'll be fine. Just look at it as one of life's adventures.

The schools are great. My hubby is in the army and my boy goes to "army" school, they have a great retutation and have loads of things to do.
I m sure you will enjoy it over there and make loads of new friends pritty quick. Good luck and hope all goes well out there.

I can't speak for whether you'll fit in or not. As far as the quality of schools, you can't beat them. A Department of Defense School, has some of the highest, and most qualified teachers there are, each of these schools excell academically.

you will really enjoy it. i was an air force brat and i always enjoyed DOD schools. have fun and learn alot!
