Understanding of the bible is done all the time. Understanding is done in many languages besides the ancient Hebrew. It was translated by Moses during his lifetime into seventy languages so that the world would understand. The system of numbers (gematria) adds to our understanding of the bible and that there are levels upon levels to an infinite depth for understanding the bible. We'll never understand all of the bible until the Messiah comes. And that the original text which has been faithfully reproduced throughout the generations is as it was from the start in the form of the Torah and that the Torah has not changed even one space or one letter since the time of Moses.

They can't really. It was all translated by people working for the Catholic church. There are also tons of books of the bible (written by people claiming to be the other apostles) that never even made it into the final Bible. It has all been put together by man. For some reason a lot of Christians are afraid to examine the book as anything other than a mystical "word of God." I believe in God with all my heart, but I honestly don't feel like the bible is a good reflection of what God wants. Many people are just too superstitious to admit that God might not approve of everything they read in the bible (even when you point out the many contradictions contained in the text that had to come from poor translations and misunderstandings).

the bible was translated so that people who didn't know hebrew could understand it. just like when it comes to learning different languages, you do it so you can understand what is being spoken/written/ or other.
plus, the original bible was 3 seperate languages that over time have all been translated into the same language (not one specific language but the all people can read it through their own).
and for the hearsay part- whenever the books were rewritten, they were rewritten word for word. with over 40 different authors, most of which did not know eachother, 3 different languages, and a time span of over 2000 years, with all the same text that is found in each seperate book, it's amazing how they can't be wrong about another book, for they all compliment each other.

What are you? A muslim? My wife is majoring in Arabic and probably minoring in Hebrew. She seems to have no problem making sense of the two languages. Maybe I'm being childlike or something but I'm guessing that if the copies of the Bible we have today can be translated into over 4,000 languages perhaps it's possible to translate the original Hebrew and Aramaic into English as well.

You must at one point trust someone elce to do something for you that you cannot do. Jesus is a perfect example of this, none can enter heaven without Jesus. The chair you are all sitting in, did you personally create that chair? Did you build your car? How then are you so confident that when you sit down, it will support you? It is immpossible to be certain of anything and everything in life. I am certain that Jesus is God's son and that it is by his grace alone that I may be with him for eternity. If you have not givin your life to Jesus, then you will never know what it is like to be absolutly cartain of anything.

It`s deeper than that;God gives different levels of reading the bible;There is messages on basic salvation for those who just need to get saved;then it goes deeper and deeper;prophecy;works etc..... all that matters is that people get saved first;then look into the hidden meanings of the word.
