This is to be expected. It is not because of proactive. It is just that pimples form beneath the skin and can take about 2 weeks to surface. These are the pimples that had already formed before you started to use proactive. The use of proactive will help the breakout clear up faster and prevent new ones. You just need to stick with it. You will see a huge difference after about a month.

I had breakouts, too. But...how many times a day are you using it? You should only try once a day to see if it does any better. When I first used Pro-Active, I used it twice a day. I kept asking myself, 'does this stuff works?' Than I started using it once a day or a few times a week. It worked a whole lot better. Now I don't have that much breakouts. Now remember: It helps 'prevents' breakouts. It doesn't cure them. Just be patient with the stuff. :-)

Just curious how old are you? Could this be hormonal? check out Dr Lee's Website about hormonal imbalances and breakouts. I have been where you are and tried everything. I now use a bio-idenical progensterone hormone from Arbonne and I use their Intelligence skin care line for oily, sensitive skin. They also have an incredible acne treatment system called Clear Advantage. But with my situation it was hormones that was wrecking havoc on my face. So I now use the Prolief from arbonne and swear by it from day 7 to day 26 and I rarely break out.

You must believe me on this: A major cause of skin blemishes is caused by either irritants in the water (such as chlorine) or something that you are using on your skin. Alot of soaps, shampoos and toothpaste contain a chemical known as sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate. These same chemicals are used for cleaning floors, laundry detergent and other things of that nature. I now have a filter in my shower head that filters out chlorine. I use soaps and shampoos that are organic and have no SLSs in them. I noticed a difference instantly! Many will tell you that the chlorine in the water is harmless, well after what I have experienced I couldn't disagree more! If you take the steps and eliminate these toxins you will be very glad you listened to what I said! ITS TRUE! When these irritants are applied to the skin they cause it to dry and crack, resulting in achne and other skin infections and blemishes. Only thing I can say is: try it!

OMG! Okay this is what happened to me. My whole head was broken out with blemishes and it was HORRIBLE so i said hey let me try PROACTIVE. You know how in the commercials theres people saying omg its the best yadayadayada. So i get it in the mail after i ordered it - okayy its not doing anything. I said it probally takes a couple weeks for it to start working. I waited 3 month b/c thats what it said is the average time all your pimples would be gone and all i had were even more. Proactive doesnt work. Trust Me.

Ask your dermotologist to perscribe Ziana- a new acne gel. It works. It dried out all my pimple in weeks. I still use it to maintain skin clarity and wash my face with Cetaphil and moisturize with Cetaphil. I tried everything under the sun, inlcuding accutane twice.

ProActive did not work. It made everything worse that is ahppening to you. It's a waste of money...I would suggest useing what your dermatologist prescribed you. They probably know what is right for your skin.
